Calling ALL Explorer & Expedition Yacht Fans! What Do YOU Think Of The Bering 77?

In response to the requests of my viewers, then I thought that I would put a video together about the Bering 77!
This impressive explorer yacht weighs in at 165 tonnes. The Bering 77 has a large, bulbous bow that helps her achieve maximum fuel efficiency as she glides through the water.
You will notice, too, her high bow that helps to keep all who sail on her as dry as possible when the conditions of the sea take a turn for the worse.
But this high bow also means that, further aft, the Bering 77 has a headroom of 7ft 2 inches, which is two metres!
The Bering 77 explorer yacht also has a full-beam flybridge allowing you and your guests to make maximum use of the available space as you survey your surroundings whilst enjoying everything that comes with the freedom of having your own explorer yacht.
The flybridge has a solid hardtop which is as sturdy as the rest of the vessel.

By far, Bering makes the best expedition yachts! Redundancy beyond words, quality unmatched. If I had the cash, Bering is what I would buy!

I agree 100% Absolutely gorgeous boats. I'll likely never be in the market to buy one, but it is a dream I have. Maybe someday if I can find one that is a bit older in need of some repairs and a refit I might be able to swing one.

I love the Berings and what you say is true. If you want a yacht for for motoring through rough seas then a Dashew FPB is is it. Purchase of one is likely to cost a pretty penny though since they have retired. You will not find a finer yacht than Dashew FPB 97 ICEBERG. She can cross oceans at over 12 knots and surf down seas for extended periods at over 20 knots. She will actually give a smooth ride in gale force wind and seas as most of the Dashew yachts do. Iceberg has travelled a total of 51,687NM, visiting 16 different countries(more now) in her short 6year life span. Folks buy a Dashew when they plan on travelling and exploring . She just recently resold and asking price was over 6.5 million euros +vat

This is my favorite Yacht by far. Incredible in every way except all out short distance speed. Some day I'm going to purchase a 15-20 year old one of these, refit it to my style, and as an electric, and use it for nearly every vacation until I die a very happy old man.

Absolutely fabulous trawler yacht. I only recently found Bering Yachts and they are my vessel of choice. I would definitely have the Bering 77 if money was no object ! At its 77 foot length you don’t need a masters certificate to command it. My coastal skippers qualification would do fine to command this beauty and of course the big lottery win ! Bloody stunning mate, I saw Alexis walk us through the building of one of these masterpieces. Built like no other. Yes, the 130 for her nearly perfect proportional lines. Footnote: Pump fuel, it would cost 72 thousand dollars to fill her up in my country right now, 22/ Sept/ 2022. That's a new car per tank.

I live in the Pacific Northwest, and the calm boat season is short. Even during the boat season, the seas can get very high, the Bering 77 is a perfect yaght for all types of sea. That's the type of yacht I want, and the very modern interior makes all the difference in the expedition yacht marcket.

The best yacht for rough seas is a Dashew FPB. Here is a Dashew FPB 64 Iron Lady doing an open house in a gale. Their larger yachts fair even better along with being faster and having more range. I do love the Berings though and they would be much easier to acquire as the Dashews have reitred. The Dashews built FPB 97 ICEBERG which has travelled over 51k NM in 6 years by her owners with no crew

You stated a hull of 6mm thick. I believe it to be be 10mm thick below the water line and closer to 6mm above the water line.

This is probably the most capable explorer trawler yacht I have come upon so far that is still manageable for a couple. If I were to buy a new one I would remove the forward crew area and just make that into the ownera suite bathroom and closets. One thing to keep in mind in other reviews and also on Bearings website is that the listed LOA is not correct. The correct length is 23.97 meters. They wanted to make it a "boat" and not a ship which 24 meters is a limit in a majority of countries. That takes down a lot on the cost of owning a Bearing 77.

@@wcc1212 It depends what country you are from. If you are in the US then I dont think that matters to. In many countries of Europe it will matter though as you will have other regulations to follow which incure safety checks, higher insurance and stuff like that. We do however not have property tax on boats and cars which is usually something that will add up for US owners.

If you want to see a proven capable yacht which is managed by just a couple and no crew then check out a Dashew FPB. They have videos DashewOffshore and one where they travelled from Fiji to Panama one stop by her elderly owners. They also built FPB 97 Iceberg which travelled over 51k NM in 6 years by just her owners and no crew

The Bering yachts seem to be the best overall expedition yachts in production. The 77 is a beautiful design. You could also use it as a live aboard.

It's really well suited to owner-operator or minimally crewed with owner living aboard full-time. That's pretty much their target market. It's not a charter yacht that'll never see open water again after delivery. It's a yacht to be used to see the world with your family and/or close friends.

I've totally changed my opinion on trawler yachts from always looking at speed machines such as the Pershing range, yes fantastic to do 40 knots on a 120 ton yacht but all at the expense of range, the whole point of a yacht for me is to be able to arrive somewhere and a 400 mile range versus 4000 miles opens up so many more possibilities. Great video

As someone who spent five years at sea in the Royal Navy as well as volunteering in the RNLI, I have seen most emergencies at sea and most sea states. I think that is where my admiration came for vessels which are designed and built for the toughest conditions.

My favourite live aboard if you are wanting a floating home that can go anywhere. Otherwise, love the Fleming as a boat for all seasons but not needing to use it as a home for too long. (less volume)

Iv'e been around boats since age 12yrs.Worked over 50yrs commercial fishing,these expedition,explorer yachts like the Bering built in steel with aluminum super structure look the business,though I can't get away from the fact they all look like the proverbial wedding cake, top heavy,layer upon layer,I would prefer more depth and guts below the water line.

Like all of us that dream of owning such a vessel one day, we have our own list of requirements that the boat should have. This boat tick's nearly all the boxes with, for me, one major deficit. That is the cruising speed. Any boat i am lucky enough to purchase would need a minimum cruising speed of 12-14kn with a max of 16-20kn. One other requirement would be space for a tender of about the size of a Williams 625. I know that to achieve this i would probably have to go bigger.

Half of the board is not enough ?? My companions from Turkey came to me in Sochi on such a Bering and we rested in the sea at 2 - 2.5 points. I don't know if the stabilizer was involved (I wasn't interested in yachts at that time), but I can say for sure that 2.5 points to this "iron" is like an elephant shot. It doesn't feel at all.

I love the Bering Expedition vessels. When I win the lottery, they will be on the top of my list. I do wish they were rated for a heavier aluminum tender. Who cares if the boat dips to the side while loading and unloading. Aren't they designed for that?

The 4000 nautical miles is with 2 engines at 8 knots. Running 1 engine at a time will give you about 6000 miles

I believe a combination of thick steel construction, and placing tanks and other equipment as low as possible. Looking at it, I would not have guessed 200 gross tons.

@@davidswagger3085 I dunno. I know there are a lot of requirements to be certified to operate in open ocean, where a lot are restricted to I think is not more than 200nm from a safe port.

I just came across your channel and I appreciate the way it was presented so I subscribed and will watch all you produce. I like Bering products because they are redundant and built very sturdy, I just wished they used higher quality materials like other yachts and super yachts if they did they would be at the very pinnacle of yacht production (IMO).

I love this small ship. I would order it with lots of more traditional dark woodwork, similar to the Nordhavn 120’ yacht. The traditional dark woodwork is what creates the combined feelings of luxury and adventure. Yachts with interiors that could be luxury condos In any city leave me wanting for more. I don’t think there are many small/medium explorer yachts that have more exciting interiors than Nordhavn or many small/medium explorer yachts that are built better than Bering. Combine the best of the two and you have the ultimate small/medium sized explorer yacht dream machine.
