Hey, so my discus throw had a lot of power but I have a huge lack of height. I've tried keeping my head up, my left arm up, and even dipping my shoulder but it never seems to work. What is something I'm not doing?

Sure is. But how come the set limits on some events and not all events that are affected by wind? you also have the inconsistency in some events where you have both an indoor and outdoor record and in some where you only have one. Pole vault have the same world record for indoors and out. But shot put does not. What is the logic there?

@@tobiasforsberg2497 World Athletics lists one shot put world record. The only events with listed indoor world records are those contested on short tracks.

@@tobiasforsberg2497 because it doesn't take skill to run with the wind, where as it does to throw into a wind or with the wind.You don't play it right its the difference between a meter farther and 5 meters shorter

@@tobiasforsberg2497indoor pole vaulting is the exact same event. Indoor shotput uses a plastic as opposed to metal implement and is thrown off a wood circle instead of concrete.

All throws further were done in similar conditions and by confirmed drug users (Soviet Union, East Germany)... can't count those throws either then.

Yes it counts, no current wind aided regulation as in the jumps and sprints.

There is not. But trust it does add distance. Like a plane it can create more upward thrust for the discus

Wind chasing is a thing in the world of discus throwing . . . if there's a choice of competitions pick the one with the best wind: front right quarter for right handed throwers . .Don't know if that wind there was ideal though . .It appeared to be blowing across the sector. As for technique, I think you're right, though that won't necessarily give her more distance. I've seen a lot of huge throws from poor technique over the last fifty odd years. She has a very fast and powerful arm/shoulder and that's where most of that distance was coming from . . I'm guessing that she has a very good standing throw . .

There isnt any but both here throw and Aleknas throws were done in a fucking storm. Simple takes away the excitment from the event IMO.

So? It’s personal preference and depends on the body

Jurgen Schult threw the WR with a reverse, he just stopped doing it a lot afterwards.
