I finally did this last night at 2am. For posterity and all other platinum hunters wandering through here, here's my tips: Do not directly watch Kiryu or his bat in Super Gold Rush, the window between him tensing up and you needing to hit the ball is way too small to do consistently. Instead, I had great success with just watching the arc of each pitch from the center pitching machine, as the direction and relative speed of each unique pitch does not change. Here’s a breakdown of each pitch: 1. Straight Fast. Swing at ~.5s from pitch when the ball has traveled just past its midpoint. 2. Right Curve. Swing at ~1s from pitch when the ball begins to curve left towards you. 3. Straight Fast. Swing at ~.5s from pitch when the ball has traveled just past its midpoint. 4. Left Curve. Swing at ~1s from pitch when the ball begins to curve right towards you. 5. Right Curve Sinker. Swing at ~.5s from pitch when the ball begins to curve left towards you. This is a little tricky, as the camera makes the ball appear to be straight, until it curves sharply towards Kiryu. 6. Slow Overhead Curve. Swing at ~2s from pitch when the ball is almost right in front of Kiryu’s face. This ball moves much slower than the earlier pitches, so take a breather to calm your nerves before doing this last pitch. With enough practice, you can consistently clear the 6th pitch for a 1 mil profit. Repeat this 5 times and the CP is yours!

Just when you think you've got one cruel minigame out of the way and completed, they throw another one at you.

The money really isn't a problem once you learn how to farm Mr. Shakedown which doubles your money each time. The annoying part is how long it takes to reload the batting game and one miss and you're out.

Half the time getting the CP is just spent waiting in menus and animations which are all unskippable. Like holy fuck just keep the game going after, stop kicking me out, forcing me to watch how much I've lost all nicely tallied in front of me, spamming a until I can start the minigame up again, then waiting for Kiryu to finish his lil animation. Goddamn it's so badly designed.

It's faster to hit touch pad and quit minigame if you didn't hit the target. There's a small window before the ball hits the back wall and you don't get the disappointed Kiryu headshake and money loss screen and can retry right away.

I love Yakuza 0 soo much BUT WHO THE FUCK HAD THE IDEA OF THIS MINIGAME

I´m the only one missing a restart button in this game. In most of this minigames there´s one missing.

I'm glad I could find people making guides on this cause holy hell I wasn't expecting batting to be so hard. I used the technique of watching Kiryu's bat and it mostly worked, the main issue being I'd swing too early right as he started to tense up instead of when he fully did it. Very precise timing but I pulled it off in the end

FAST, FAST, FAST, SLOW, FAST, SLOW AS SHIT and then quit. I got this down in an hour, and I’m retarded, so listen up. Do the first three pitches back to back, don’t pause. The timing for the first three will always be fast. Take a breather before the 4th one, remind yourself that it will be a bit slower. Take a breather before the 5th one. Remind yourself this one is fast. Take a breather before the 6th one. This one is UNNATURALLY slow. Just watch the bat and be patient. Memorize those pitches, watch the bat fall, and mash X the second it does.

i had issues with the aim at first since my thumb is jittery.. it’s much easier to use the ball as a guide if your reaction time is good.

I saw this vid and read the 'stops shaking the bat' advice before I even started Batting, and I've still never done this ONCE after over thirty tries.

As someone whos reflex is as slow as a bag of bricks, this mini game is my worse nightmare.

That moment when you're on the ACTUAL LAST ONE ON 80% BEAT IT AND FUCKING ACCIDENTALLY CLICK X TO CONTINUE INSTEAD OF QUIT, FUCK ME LIFE

When it comes to that sixth one, I usually have some trouble aiming. I saw it shake briefly for you, but you were able to keep it mostly calm. Any suggestions on steadying the aim?

I did it! I got some practice in on Yakuza 1 Kiwami as the sub-mission stuff wasn't as hard, but with that practice it made me better to crack Yakuza 0 on the batting, lol.

Well gonna try the “wait until Kiryu stops” tactic and see how far I go without committing Seppuku EDIT: okay I did get to 47% I just have to remember to be patient and keep my mouth shut from jinxing myself.

Don't understand how to play this. The ball never goes anywhere near the targets. Try to keep the target steady, but never seem to get a sweet hit. Tried at least 20 times

Honestly to beat this you have to personally go ultra instinct and have a calm mind. That was the only way I beat it after like 25 attempts

I'm confused, I've hit the ball about 50 times now and it hasn't hit the target a single time. I feel like I must be doing something fundamentally wrong otherwise I should have at least hit the target once or twice as a fluke.

600 mil down the hole but I finally got it, eventually I started timing my breathing with the hit window, and on top of that, I would always aim towards the bottom left of the target, on account of the fact that I was on the early side of the swing, which would cause the ball to go more right and up. Regardless, screw this achievement, and I wish you luck. And may the gods have mercy if you are stuck on a controller.

If anyone is still having trouble with this and on pc the animation tip works but you need to lower fps for more consistency.

Like the description says, all you have to do is stare at Kiryu's bat, focus completely on it, once it stops swinging this is when you have to immediately press the swing button. It took me a couple tries to get used to it, but make sure you memorize the moment he'll freeze his bat. Sometimes take longer than others but it'll be the same pattern all the time. Then just give up after the sixth shot to save the 1 million you won and do that 5 times

At first I tried to watch the arc of the ball. (I also tried to accommodate for a slight input lag, since I'm playing on PC.) Then I tried watching the shaking bat, and then counting, as suggested. Nothing worked. Then I tried no tactic at all, not even watching the ball fly, but just pushed the button in the right moment when I thought the ball was there. Suddenly it was like a 80% success on first try.

After losing 200 million I finally did it. Thanks man.

I genuinely learnt this so well (not that I wanted to) that I could've easily done it at 10mil, thank god I don't have to though. (tip for anyone still looking to get this cp, focus on the ball & learn how close it has to be to be a homerun, it's almost in slow motion when you focus on the ball)

Did this on pc. Finally said fuck and unplugged the controller and used keyboard and mouse controllers. It made it way fucking easier. I got it within a few attempts after that.

GUYS I FOUND SOMETHING THAT MAKES THIS SO MUCH EASIER If you quit before kiryu starts his head shake animation after you inevitably lose, you can save about 1 year of your life

I've found everybody's information and tips on how to beat this mini game very vague. However, I found that if you concentrate and watch the tip of Kiryu's bat, you'll notice he traces a circle pattern. When he stops tracing this pattern, he tenses up and then that's your cue to press X. Also, if you memorise the speed of each ball, this will prepare you for the cue to hit the ball. First ball is slow; second is fast; third is fast; fourth is slow; fifth is medium and sixth is slow. After the sixth you'll have 6 million yen (1 million profit). Quit and then save game in the phone booth outside (because this is going to take some time if you're struggling and you want to bank that stat). Then repeat the game 4 more times. You'll pick it up eventually.
