Royal Hansen ’97 (Computer Science) leads the central engineering function that builds and scales the foundational technology at Google, keeping billions of people safe online. Recent innovations offer both enormous opportunities to help manage the risks of global scale computational activity but also a range of novel risks which require technical and societal developments to mitigate.
