I have a 2200 since I bought it almost 2.5 years ago. It’s one of the most musical and powerful amps I have ever owned ! These are great amps 😊

How’s the build quality on the faceplate and knobs? I got a chance at picking up the AS1200 and I’m not sure.

Absolutely in love with this amplifier. I have it hooked to a good pair of HECO Celan 700 and love its detail and sweetness. They are a perfect match.

I hear you, I got a Yamaha a-s1200 bought brand new, I came from electrocompaniet separates, and has always used separates for the most part. the pre amp section in this is not great. the amp section is top notch . mosfets with floating design and a high BIAS , so it runs in pure class a for a couple of watts

I have a Plinius 9200 Integrated. Class AB design that is also high class A biased and I love it !

A SUPERB film I also have it.. I us it as integrated BUT FOR SOUPERB SOUND I USE THE NAIM AUDIO SN2+HICAP DR AS.PREAMPLIFER AND THE YAMAHA 1200 AS POWER TO MY B&W 801 S3 THANK YOU FOR THIS FILM

Your bottom light bulb for your left VU meter is dead... :(

There's no bulbs at the bottom, they're lit from the top only with what looks like a strip of LEDs, maybe a camera light giving that illusion on the left meter.

I just got this amp and I'm trying out different speakers with it and I have a Cambridge Audio DAC Magic 200M for my digital sources, but I also have a real to real and a turntable. With some of my tape decks I use the BASS and TREBILE controls and I'm constantly adjusting them from FLAT for new digital sources to adding TREBILE and or BASS for some tapes. When adjusting the tone controls, I hear the tone defeat relay turning off and on a lot like 6 times or so a day depending how many times I adjust them. Is this OK adjusting these like this or is it going to wear out the TONE DEFEAT RELAYS?

I've had two Yamaha integrated amps and they were both annoyingly bright. I would describe them as the exact opposite of a tube amp. Maybe the super expensive ones are different?

It really depends on the model you purchased and what you had before and after. Do you have bright speakers etc? Yamaha is known for a warmish sound aka low treble.

Got 10k hours on mine and 7years later this bad boy is like new. All buttons are tight. Yours must of had a bad fall.

It was damaged during shipment. Fixed the knob though. Solid aluminum knob

this is a Yamaha a-s1200 , its not 7 years old, you must have a a-s1100 total different amp

Is the sound supposed to glitch when you pass the click on bass and treble knobs? I bought my Amp but it was a floor model so I'm asking if that is normal.

Yes that’s normal. It’s a good thing from a pure analog standpoint. You know what a pure analog signal is vs going through tone controls. Obviously from my video I turned tone controls on to give it life. Nice purchase and be happy with it.

Cool man I had a feeling it was supposed to do that and also the crackling when you turned it on felt normal also.I gotta get the headphone jack replaced though but that is minimal considering what I paid for it. Thx for the speedy reply man! 🤜@@ThriftShopReviews

I was kinda busted when I plugged in and it was all static, But I just plug into my Pioneer DJM750 and sounds awesome but I cant wait to get the Amp jack fixed because it's gonna be awesome I presume. @@ThriftShopReviews

I contacted Yamaha yesterday and they said there were only 3 units in Southern California available for in person hearing, and they are nowhere near me. I need BASS for my headphones and I am not getting it on older CD’s. My next thought was to buy a samll iFi Pro iCan with X-bass and XLR headphone input. BUT those seem over priced, costing as much as these 50 pound VU meter Yamaha amps! What exterior headphone amp were you using?

Hello does this amplifier have a little his if nothing is playing and you put the volume to max . I want to buy this amp but it has to be absolutely quit if nothing is playing.
