Excellent review and opinions as always! I always felt that the 250cc class is overpriced for what they offered compared to 200cc bikes. Good to see Yamaha rationalizing F25's price. This should make the upcoming Pulsar's pricing competitive. Having owned a Yamaha bike for 10 long years, I can only say that they age really well.

The engine heating depends on compression ratio. It doesn't matter whether it is 250 cc or 2500 cc. It has very low 9.8:1 compression ratio where as SP125 has 10.2:1 and R15 v3 has 11.6:1 after vva 12:1 which is very high. Anything above 11 is very high that's why r15 needs liquid cooling and FZ25 doesn't. Also GIXXER 250 has 10.6:1 that's why it has oil cooling with massive radiator

I have FZ25. FZ25 did 60kmph at 4000 rpm at 5th gear where as MT15 does 60kmph at 5500-6000 rpm at 6th gear. But FZ lags at top end due to 2 valves and shows breathing problem. That's all otherwise the bike is very good.

I bought this same varient last month its an amazing bike... I have seen many youtubers disgrading this bikes performance when i researched before buying.... Even recently i had a competition with Duke 250 bs6 both performance were almost same but duke has more power... even though my bike overtake that duke... Believe me at range of 200-250cc bikes yu can go for fz25 bs6 it's really amazing with this price range

If this bike had 6th gear, it would have been a killing machine in 150 to 300cc single cylinder range. It is aggressive ND punchy even at lower speeds, plus the drag it brings is bawaaaaa. Hope Yamaha brings it in 6th gear version. A must drive bike for every biker

If company reduces the price to be more competitive, people suspect their motive. If they sell for higher price they curse company for pricing it high. This is one great brand that makes one of the best bikes. They don’t sell cheap motor. Refinement is top notch. They want to target city commuter to have high displacement bike with a better mileage for regular use. It’s fun to drive bike.

People say, "Fz25 , have only 5 gears.. I am suprised to see, "Gixxer 250 crusing at 104kmph on 6th gear @6.7rpm" whereas, "Fz25 cruising at 103kmph on 5th gear at 6.5 rpm". Throttle anyfurther, both engines are going to take a hard task, than what's the use of that 6th gear on Gixxer & Why taunting Fz25 for only 5 gears 😂😂😂. Same goes for NS & Fz25.. No Doubt NS have much high speed, But at what cost! It will damage the engine engine badly, And for how much time will you use that high speed, @ 8000+ rpm? 😂

20K is just exshowroom price.. It costs 25-26K on road less now!.. It costs lesser than single channel equipped ABS equipped NS200!!.. FZ25 is now about 45K cheaper than Gixxer250 on road!!

Yamaha needs to work on front headlight section and instrument cluster on Both fzs . They look good from every angle but from front they look very bad.

If we consider only the pricing, it's a very good bike. Be it the design, quality, refinement or reliability, everything makes sense. But if we consider just the engine capacity which is 250 cc, it's not so convincing. The power figures are more in line with the 200s not so much with the 250s. It's the same story with the features as well. In a practical scenario, the FZ25 would be all what we need, sometimes maybe even a little more than what we need. But Yamaha, in my opinion, hasn't done justice to the FZ series. Yamaha is my favourite brand. But I must admit, the FZs are slower than the most of the other bikes in their specific segments capacity-wise. In short, they are not too exciting.

I got it for Rs 1,67,000 on road(FZS25). Great Power great brakes great looks great milleage (40+kmpl)
