We honestly expected more from the new Genos. Yamaha only took into account very few of my recommendations and those of the community, and that by applying some requests of the users only partially. Nothing special in terms of appearance or even an adjustable screen. The color remains the same black which is a magnet for dust. How beautiful a Tyrois 5 looks compared to a Genos and the new genos 2 is even uglier than Genos 1 if we can call it that now. Genos 2 also sounds good, but honestly I had much higher expectations. 6 years is nothing, so they had time to achieve something truly new. That Ambiance Drums also exists on Genos 1, but it's not called that. The sampler memory remained unchanged, the tones from Dx bring something new, but they could anyway be made in Yamaha Expansion Manager and for the Genos 1 version, the new rhythms can be simply loaded from USB and Genos 1, so they remain only small additions retouches of eq and reverb that we each modify to our liking and which may not be to everyone's taste. In my opinion, Genos 2 is too little and too late, but with all that, as for the sound... yes, it is and remains above the competition, just like Genos 1.

The cuality sounds in genos is greater. I can hear each instrument easier in genos than tyros... and the bass is other thing. Thank for that comparison tyros.

Good comparison of the two, but with the exception of a few sounds, that have benefited a new DSP on the Genos, there is not an awful lot of difference, appreciate the demo you have done thank you

Definitely the Tyros has the better performance for the price. It is not night and day, it is much more like a bit better balanced reverb and such post effects on the genos. T5 is still a great competitor.

Brilliant video. This is a fantastic comparison. I own a tyros 2 and been thinking to get a tyros 5 (I'm keeping the tyros 2!) I have an s970, but something about the tyros/Geno's sound is wonderful. This is the best comparison video I have come across

Nice comparison of the 2 keyboards. I would have really like it better had you told us the style used each time. I have compared the new Genos Superior pack styles to a modified version for use in the PSR-S950.

Now I got my confirmation that it was for me the absolutely correct decision not to go for a Genos but still stay with my Tyros 5. Everyone complaint me to buy the new Genos. But it would have been worth the money if I did so. So thanks for showing me directly the equality of both systems. Best wishes, Michael

Great video. Really enjoyed the honest comparison. Genos seems to have more clarity but more reverb. I wonder what T5 would sound like with the same reverb level.

nice comparison. if you only want to have the sound of tyros 5 - because maybe u like it bit more - just load t5 styles in Genos and u have it... all in one... also audio styles are working perfectly

Everyone has the right to say they prefer another brand but such an attitude of superiority and which offends a community of so big of people so great with prefer Yamaha It is unacceptable . Claiming that such top musical instruments are toys or use ivan one time the word "amateurs", referring to thos powerful keyboards Is a proof of irresponsibility, unprofessionalism, superficiality and lack of respect. After we have fought so many years against discrimination between people I hope that we have not reached the point where from a superiority complex or from pure hatred against someone we discriminate musical instruments.

Os Styles do Tyros 5 soam mais realísticos que no Genos. Infelizmente a meu ver, os Ritmos do Genos soam mais artificial.

The difference in quality (which can only be understood by comparison) does not justify the difference in price. The Genos is a Tyros 6 (or 5.5)

Tyros 5 is discontinued so you’re tied up to Genos.

La Genos vince sulla Tyros5, tutte le voice più presenti per non parlare delle drums EVO.Con la Genos le pur ottime Tyros scompaiono.
