@@nasospsar9728 phosphor bronze, they’re just a little bit warmer, which I love. Playing this guitar to me feels like sitting by a campfire, so I want it as warm and lush as possible. But if you wanted a bit more sparkle, I think 80/20 would suit this guitar as well.

Hi there, I got my yamaha a3r 2016 model ...yes not the exact same guitar like you demonstrated us(I thought I was buying one like yours...I figured it out once I got it on my hands and compered it with the looks of it from your video 🤣) Anyway is pretty much the same instrument besides some small changes like the ARE (technically aged wood) Yamaha is using nowadays, probably that is why your guitar's top looks darker than mine which is lighter colour and the grain of the wood is more visible something that I loved as soon as I opened that beautiful hard case that came with from Yamaha ...here I got to say that the guitar is brand new I bought it from a dealer in Italy... An other difference are the electronics and the battery position...at least these are the differences I can see myself...the rest are exactly as you described, the instrument is very very well made... I couldn't find anything not even inside like leeks of glue around the bracing that you usually see on cheaper guitars ..everything is surprisingly beautifully done. The guitar feels solid like it is and sounds fantastic with lots of sustain ...something that characterises mostly more much more expensive guitars...the playability is there ...maybe the nut I would say is towards the narrow side but it's OK with me. I have the guitar a day now and I can't leave it from my hands!!! Overall... that guitar has everything one needs, beautiful rosewood with excellent finish, warm and balanced sound, comfortable neck, very good electronics (alots of potential) and the most important you don't break the bank...very fair purchase really happy with that Yamaha that guitar is a keeper!!! For me, the other factor after a while, is that the memories you make with the guitar give it more value. Would you love a brand new guitar? Of course! Would it mean as much to you as a guitar you have played and enjoyed for years and made memories with? Probably not I reckon. Is it worth it? I don't know haha

Yeah it's the high notes that really shine, I'd describe the low end on my A3R as tight rather than fat, but I'm okay with that!

@@richardclarkmoore I'm not saying I haven't picked up a couple 800 series trailers that made my mouth water! For sure I have! I'm not sure I've heard but Yamaha That sounded quite as resonant.... Yamaha's are way better bang for buck in the mid-tier department.

@@EdLo. Yeah, the FS5 is a red label made in Japan, the LSTA made in China, for me Yamaha's are a real eye opener, I wish I had tried them sooner

Oh that's a shame! I can only speak from my own experience, but I haven't been any terrible ones yet. Maybe I'm just lucky, or maybe you're just unlucky, but we can definitely agree on a good solid test of the guitar before you buy it, regardless of where it is made.

@@richardclarkmoore You must like buzzing. I've never played a chinese one that didn't buzz capo'd or not. Some are better then others. The closest I got is a FS800 I just bought....best neck I've seen in 30 years....not luck....I checked it before I left the store. One small buzz at the 5th fret.....took 5 minutes to level it down a couple thousands. That one I can tune down a whole step and it plays well with no relief in the neck....that's the exception to chinese guitars. Over the years they're getting better but when you get a dog it howls like an injured puppy.

I'm a fan of how Yamaha put their guitars together, however, I've found that some guitars have low neck angle resulting in low saddle height to achieve acceptable action (including an LLX16 I owned) ... so take care when purchasing.

No,I wouldn't agree with your thoughts, all details considered ( wood types, nut and saddĺe material etc. I know of many Guitarist's who feel Yamaha's are Awesome guitar's, their consistency is the key, Iv'e played alot of poor Martin's, takamines, etc.but Yamaha seems to have that consistency, but then just my experiences 😊😊😊

Yes indeed, good reasoning, I feel the same, the higher the price your not for the money getting much more, and I settled for their acoustonic cutaway, wow now that's a guitar 😊😊😊

Yamaha has produced millions of "Pawn Shop" specials... beginner guitars, so most people have played one of their $200 instruments and decided that Yamaha doesn't know how to make a guitar. Nobody who has played my LL-TA (LL16 with transacoustic) holds a negative view of Yamaha guitars :P
