This was because yamaha had to launch mx49/61/88 line of synth as successor to mm6/8. If there were 2 keyboards in the same bracket their marketing policy would have failed. Similar reason for discontinuation of motif in view of montage and tyros in view of genos

@@motif123456 Yamaha don't "have" to launch anything!! lol, but yes technical innovation needs to constantly happen or the competition will leave you behind, PS Genos was just tyros 6 all thru development but a name change was sort of a last minute marketing strategy since they had eventually got round to using a touchscreen so thought a change to denote that would be apt, forget names though, its innovation which is the key and motif is a sound engine as is montage which replaced it, hence those name denotations for the actual machines ( its the same in all products, ford focus was escort mark 7 in development but became focus when the marketing guys came in, etc etc etc ;) and make no mistake Hariberto, a new product is never released until sales of the current one drastically slow.

Yes, about 60 styles (patterns), also each style has 2 variations with some tracks muted, this way an overall number of styles is 3 times more, which is really misleading. Styles here don’t have intros, endings or breaks.

Music_ TJ they indeed work like PSR, in fact you can import 1 extra style from some old PSR (.sty format) but it takes some time to load a style and you can’t edit it within MM6 in any way, so it’s not very convenient.

@@piano148 How do you import an .sty? SysEx on the computer via midi?

@@davidaustin6962 I only use factory styles here, so I didn’t have to import anything.
