when I got my 21SP I was disappointed, felt slower and less grunt/grin factor, came from a 2019 mapped and exhaust’ Gen2 that was bonkers fun though, since down gearing to 15/47 the 21SP has way more grin factor now 😁 this is my 4th MT09 and done total 57,000 miles on them, 10,000 of those on the 21SP

Which mt09 would you recommend to get? I need something with grunt. Does the gen2 have more of that?

@@shapelessdreams my Gen2 had a custom exhaust, was remapped and 15 tooth front sprocket so it was far from stock and it was bonkers, probably why I was unimpressed with the stock Gen3. With the gearing changes the Gen3 is just as bonkers, very quick but not as fast flat out

From what I've seen the new MT-09 isn't as tunable as the Gen 1 and 2 models. Exhaust and an ECU flash will give about the same power as the older models with similar mods.

Bruh the 21 09’s are heavily restricted!! To meet euro 5, I’ve seen them get to 120whp!! All they need is a good tuner and air/exhaust done

My brother is wanting to buy my 2017. Leaves me with the choice to get another Gen2 or a new 2021+ After my research the only thing I’m scared of is missing the Gen2 higher red line and top end. Although a small difference possibly, anybody have any opinion on this ?

You don't actually feel that slightly higher red line, the power isn't there on either gen2 or 3 anyway. It is also possible to add 1000rmp to the gen 3 with tune.

Y’all the new cp3 in 2021 mt09’s is heavily restricted to meet euro 5!! These new bikes in the hands of a good tuner and some air filter mods and exhaust mods have crazy gains!!

I had a beautiful '18, yosh exhaust, 2wheeldynoworks flash/tune. Hate to say it but I think my box stock '21 is quicker and faster.

Sorry dude, how can be the same stock vs tuned? I have a woolich racing tune and compared to stock the bike is much faster especially in 3rd gear pulls, in 2nd it has so much power that wants just to wheelie at wot.

The bike in this video is not tuned, I raced another tuned mt09 and I beat him up to 232 which is my limited top speed. Check the video on my tiktok @moabz.street

@@Moztreet i'm talking about the my2017, with a proper tune it gains easly 10/15hp, and good torque in the mid range. No way a stock 2021 09 is faster than a tuned and well ridden gen2 09. Maybe the one of your friend has got a shit flash not developed on rhe dyno. The only thing that I really miss is the anti wheelie, because in 2nd gear it just doesnt want to keep the front on the ground

@@T0n189 The torque curve is different in the new mt09, along with the added power and slightly lighter weight, I'm not surprised that it's faster. Maybe I should race different gen 2 mt09s and see if there is a difference.
