This is great! Thank you for this clarification regarding the midi files imported to DAW. This would open lots of doors & windows with creativity and song writing. In the past it only opened in “0” format...

Worst thing about PSR-S series keyboard is the Keybed. I prefer the keybed in PSR E series the same you can find it in MOX series as well. Another cons are compressed kinda sound output (especially the drum voices sound thin even though the sample rate and tone is really good) and lack of 76 key choice.

I just bought it. It should arrive Thursday. I got it for 400 dollars off at $1599.99, they had a 20% off coupon at the Guitar Center, Lucky me. I played it for months alongside the Genos at the store, this is a better bang for your buck. Peace

Thank you so much! I got confused with the parts and was wondering if Dual Voice (Part) as you described I can play 2 Voices at the same time. That is what I was wondering. Is it possible to change the Octave on the layers like that? Like say Piano lower sound and Strings Highest sound.

I have owned several PSR keyboards. the latest is a PSR 3000. Would Yamaha be willing to make the PSR in two models. One with 61 keys and one with 76. Like the Genos.

Sounds great but I cant see that big a difference from my old Psr s710 to be honest..oh apart from price. still love my 710 and play it for hours every day.piano sounds just like this one too!

How can I control level parameters of the PSR-S975 (and SX900) from an external physical MIDI controller, like the Korg Nano Kontrol 2 mini? Basically, I want to assign style and part LEVELS (and maybe cutoffs, knob parameters) to an external physical knob and slider controller that I could quickly manipulate part levels in real time. I studied manual, but it is not clear to me, so please DON’T just reference the manual page. Please be SPECIFIC on steps, as I am new to keyboards and MIDI. Thanks.

I like this PSR S975 keyboard. But it will be good if the screen is touch sensitive. I request Yamaha to produce new PSR S975 with touch sensitive screen, but same model, color, styles, functions and should sell this keyboard at same price. Respected Yamaha, please accept my request. Also, please don't change the name.

looks good mate but when are we gonna see keyboards that dont sound like a wedding band on every backing track in every genre.although the EDM sound nearly sold it for me. is there anyone on youtube who can play something different so these backing tracks dont sound like a 1 man band at an over 80s bingo night?✌🏽

Depending on how you look at it. An arranger is a keyboard that has rythms/styles and backing tracks and you can arrange them (hints the name arranger keyboard) and a workstation keyboard is mostly for sound editing and creating. However, Yamaha calls these keyboard (including this model) arranger workstation keyboards meaning it has both functions of an arranger and a workstation. This model has the rythms/styles and backing tracks but the voices and sounds are very flexible and are able to be edited and manipulated right on the keyboard in real time. You can even add your own sounds using yamaha expansion manager. Hope that helps!

I think I am going to sell my Genos and get this one and save the rest in my bank account. There are many voices and styles similar in Genos with 1/3 the price.

Melo Keyz do it. I just bought the PSR 975 and I have been playing both the Genos and this one at the Guitar Center for a couple months, trying them out... this one is definitely a BETTER bang for your buck, the Genos is amazing but way overpriced, peace

Yes, you can use the styles to create your own song and sell it. You can't take the built in styles and sell them, though.

I guess you paid Yamaha the price of that machine. So, it makes sense that you're the owner of it which means you own every style and voice. You surely can do whatever you like with them. It's like when Michael Jackson went to the Beatles and paid money for come together song. So, you paid it too.
