Amazing review and many thanks for the comparison. I am an RSV4 fan boy anyday… however it’s best have these reviews as it’s the only one in its class… Thanks once again

Particularly good review, you went beyond the 4 stars very detailed. ...describe various aspects of the two bikes. . I own a 2017 RSV4 RR and I have the same starting issues not as bad as the R1, for the heat I removed the canister.

This is the best review between these two bikes instead of from race track journalist who don’t really own these bikes. I’m on the fence between these two bikes and you helped me make my decision. Your bikes look awesome murdered out.

Thank you! I agree. The majority of people are not actually racing these bikes on a track. I try and give real world information that most people would like to know for riding these bikes on the street or as a daily commuter. I plan on doing this with other bikes in the future as well!

@@JT2JZ, looking forward to the reviews. I’m going with the R1 and it’s going to be for street and commuting. I really like the RSV4 and the cruise control feature but I’m afraid of it’s gremlins and not being reliable. I going to get a murdered out R1 for it’s performance and reliable. I’d like to know I can get 30,000 miles without getting stranded. Originally I wanted yamaha blue and I’m digging the all black. Plus most graphic schemes go with all black and I can change the looks.

Black is timeless for sure. I try and find all of my bikes black in Colour. They are always easiest to resell later on as well.

@@JT2JZ ,nice. I didn’t know all black bikes resell better. Makes sense and makes me more content to get that color now. The Yamaha Blue R1’s look stunning but on the 2023’s they changed the side fairings to a mat blue color it’s not as aesthetically pleasing where as the all black is.

@-mystical-16 the easy resale on all black bikes has just been my experience and opinion so take that with a grain of salt. It’s a more neutral colour where as bright colours I think are more “love it or hate it” for some buyers

I was the same when it came to the heat with my ktm 1190. Too damn hot in the summer but a warm welcome in the winter! Wicked review. Glad to hear your sticking with the aprillia!

You still planning to pick up another adventure bike? I must admit those ktms are pretty sweet units. I’d love to find an 1190 RC8 or maybe a 1290 super duke R for the channel in the future. Hard bikes to find though.

In all honesty I think I like the R1 slightly more if that helps you choose.

god both looks stunning!!, i wish i could own the r1 like yours but in my country, bikes that over 500cc have a CRAZY amount of taxes. it almost cost double the motorcycle price!!. anyway your vids about the r1 helps me to know about the bike, very useful tips, keep it up sir.

Thank you for the kind words and supporting the channel. I genuinely appreciate it. We are lucky here. Insurance premiums are expensive but we don’t get hit with taxes that bad.

Good review man. I can tell you from my own experience with a 2022 Aprilia Tuono V4 that reliability issues can definitely be there. Mine is actually being purchased back by Aprilia as a lemon. Between overheating the day I got at home from the dealership and being back four times after that for the same issue, that's actually not the only problem I've had. Had an issue with a tank vent hose come off and the fuel gauge has stopped working already. All that on a bike I purchased brand new. I will miss it as it's been the most fun two-wheel machine I've ever owned. Can't say I'll ever buy an Aprilia again though as being my first new purchased vehicle, everything I've owned in the past has been used, the taste in my mouth is quite bitter. When I went to the dealership to purchase a bike I was actually going for a Yamaha mt-10. I was shown the Tuono and found it interesting so I started doing my research. I figured after 10 years of use with this V4 engine they would have figured their stuff out, not so much. As of typing this comment Aprilia is in the process of buying the bike back and I'll be going to purchase that mt10. Japanese cars and bikes have always been reliable for me so I'm going to go with a slightly less exciting yet still crazy fun and reliable Japanese machine. Side note, I live in the south of the US states so it's a bit hotter than it gets for you up there. I hope the RSV4 treats you better than my Aprilia did me. Enjoy the heck out of it and keep posting as you can. I enjoy your captures of this part of fun in life.

Thanks for the support and detailed reply. I feel your pain. I have owned lots of older Japanese bikes with very little issues. I feel like the build quality on all bikes and vehicles for that matter is going down on brand new units unfortunately. For example I know friends with brand new fords and Chev products with huge engine failures, trans failures with very low kms. Seems like after Covid a lot of new manufacturers have started cutting corners for profit or supply chain issues and reliability problems are the outcome

Great comparison. I think your issue is having two bikes that are very similar, agree there is little benefit in having both but if I were you I would be tempted to go for a very different second bike such as Ducati Monster (naked L twin vs faired V4). Keep up the vids and best of luck with the Aprilia.

I’m definitely keeping my eyes open for a Ducati. Just not a lot of selection where I live. I would love to buy an L twin ( the big boy 1199 or 1299 ) A V4 would be amazing but they are pretty big money as well. Maybe if the KZfaq channel gets a little more popular it can still happen in the future.

I went from an 2018 S1000 to a 2022 RSV4 there is nothing like the aprilia. It has so much character. Ive had 0 problems out of mine but im only at around 2k miles so time will tell. luckily my aprilia dealer is only 10 minutes down the road.

You are one of the lucky ones with dealer support. Honestly I don’t think I have ever seen an aprilia dealer in person now that I think about it.

My kinda review👌🏻 Im a real Yamaha R1 lover, owned most gens except for the crossplane which sounds just out of this world. Sadly Im a Aprilia snob now, wouldn't ride anything else. Im a lucky owner of a 2014 RSV4 Factory and recently a 2017 RSV4-RF Super pole. You are so right about the tall first gear, but 15/42 now seems to sort that out for me. I thought the Factory was the best thing until the RF came. RF has a sweet 'up and down' Quickshifter with auto blip and the dash is a full colour display with 🤣much better navigation over the 2014 RSV4. Also worth mentioning, as the RF has the Aprilia 'Race map' unlock and Akra slip-on the power is so smooth from low down all the way up to 13k that it looks like two lines drawn on a graph with a ruler. For real! Straight and smooth all the way up!

I would love to try an aprilia with quick shifter and auto blip down shifts. That sounds like heaven. Current I’m trying to find a newer aprilia RSV4 1100 to replace my current bike. Absolutely love the aprilia so I can only imagine the 1100 would be a beast 💪. Hard finding these bikes where I live though. They are rare when no dealer support is available. Literally can’t find a single 1100 RSV4 or even Tuono up for sale. If I can find one for next season I’ll try and get some good footage of the 1000cc VS the 1100cc to see how big of a difference there is.
