Yamaha R6 Shorty Levers Installation and Review

Күн бұрынToday I install Short clutch and break levers on my 2007 Yamaha R6! This is a pretty straight forward installation and hopefully this is a good step by step! They are much nicer and easier to use than the stock, and even though they are slightly shortly, it's still easy to work them! It is nice if you have more than one person riding the bike, you can easily adjust the levers to the position that you would like!
Very simple install using a 10mm wrench, flat head and a pair of pliers.

Hey man! I just got mine done and I went by every step you did. BUT, when you do the clutch there’s a little tab underneath where the clutch bolt slides down through. I don’t know if you have one but it seems to be a relay that gets pushed in when the clutch lever is pulled in. Anyways... it has to be kept in mind not to break it off. I did mine on a 2006 R6. But overall your vids are perfect! Thank you for posting!

What'd you do with the bushing from the old clutch control. I hope you didn't lose it. Might still be in old lever!

should be slight play in clutch lever this is old vid but if someone watches this may help you check manual

I know this is an old video but be careful with cheap levers. Personally I just spent the money for quality levers with a way smaller chance of failure....... heard too many horror stories of these type of levers failing & causing serious accidents

because people have no idea what they are doing when installing. I mean look at this dude. the clutch cable was completely out of tolerance when he finished. Here we are though making videos. Reading instructions, following instructions and knowing how something works goes a long way.

Is it easier to pull? I have some aftermarket on mine but it's killing my hand cause it's so hard to pull it

It doesnt change that since the springs are the same in the clutch. But the larger level makes it easier since its a wider lever. Less pressure on your fingers.

@@jamesfuller8563 your stock clutch will have a sleeve inside the connecting hole so that there's a tight fit. It's easy to lose because when you take off the clutch it sometimes will remain inside the hole of the clutch or will fall out. Just hold on to it because you need it for new controls aka lever your putting in. Ride safe

I have the same bike. Any trouble removing the end bars? My allen bolt will not spin on either side?

No, it seemed pretty good. Tighter feeling then the stock lever to be honest. I still have these on the bike and they have been great

I notice he didn’t reinstall the bushing from the old clutch lever. This will create a little Play with the lever.
