Yamaha SCR950 first impression

Күн бұрынA short test ride with this classic scrambler looking Yamaha SCR950. It has the same engine as Yamaha Bolt. A street bike with "off-road" capabilities. I didn’t get a chance to try it off-road, I guess that would have been real fun! It wouldn't stand a chance against my Husaberg or Husqvarna, it´s to heavy at 252kg compared to a 100kg MX-bike, but that is another type of bike of course :)

A scrambler is a bike you can ride on road and off road a little bit too. It's like a naked adventure bike. Not for the woods but gravel trails are OK. But this is not a scrambler. This is more of a retro cafe racer/cruiser. I did a demo ride and put it on my KZfaq channel too. I didn't like it too much. There are much better options for scramblers and retro bikes. Your English is excellent, BTW.

It is closer to the ethos of the original scramblers than any other modern scrambler.

It's more a street tracker than a scrambler to me (downpipe, low ground clearance, wide handlebar...), looks like they kept much of the inspiration of the XV950 Racer that's from the H-D XR750 via the XR1200 and made few changes just so to call it a scrambler.

Yup, the Japanese have been sincerely flattering the European and American bike manufacturers a lot since a very long time 😆 I love how they make cheaper, simpler, easier and more reliable bikes but I'm not sure what the deal is with this one it looks like they got confused with scrambler and tracker 😕

I like the looks of it. 2 things I'm not digging: lack of rpm gauge and the belt drive. Overall scramblers on a whole wouldn't get my money, but I can see the appeal.

This is just a standard motorcycle. The only place you see 'scrambler' is in the marketing materials.

I think it would be a great beginners bike, especially if you live in the country where you can enjoy it´s off-road capabilities.

Nice sound for a standard pipe. I am going to have a look at one of these on Saturday. It reminds me of my old XT500. Does it feel heavy? If ever a video has made me want this bike, it is this one. I think because there was no music, and I could hear [and almost feel] the bike.

that Yami must feel heavy because it IS heavy...damn near 600 lbs. ready to roll. UGH!!! I would call that Harley heavy...

@@bultacowally It is 248 kg full of fuel, and the weight is carried low. That's not so bad.

Wouldn't a KLR650 be a scrambler? DRZ400??? Idk at first glance this bike looks cool but then I see a Triumph Bonneville and start drooling

I happen to love this bike. You say it's a nice bike then repeatedly said you wouldn't buy it and it's not your cup of tea. You offer no details why that is and actually say very little about how in your view this bike performed. I expected some type of feedback. Oh well...

I was a bit disappointed since i loved the Yamaha Bolt i tried out last year, it feels like they just wanted something to put out on the market since the scramblers are getting popular. But hey if you love it´s great!

All new bikes sold in Sweden from 2016 and forward must have ABS including this bike, so I guess it depends were you live.

Customizer's dream...flattracker, cafe racer, even back to a cruiser,or with an aux tank in the void belowthe seat, a tourer...I can see so much potential ?
