Well, I've only had the device for a few hours, but I think it's great, it's cheap in terms of feel but powerful. That's what matters. I'm already producing the second track. The sound selection is huge, I like it a lot better than my OP-Z.
- Buttons on the side? Some people think it's stupid. After a few hours, I already have them in my head.
- Edit sound with the app (iPad)?
I find it super intuitive better than laborious in a mini display
- The system of patterns, scenes and song mode is great, never seen before on a Groove Box
- additional (sample & snyth preset) sound selection with genre/subgenre filter is AAA
- yes ok, the look/feel isn't great, there will soon be overlays to make it pretty ;-)
- build quality is okay (i guess they will release a metallic finish with more noble knobs €;) bit for now, i can live with it
next track with some electronic sounds coming soon...

Where can I download the Yamaha original demo projects ? I 've delete the original demo project in Seqtrack I ve try to re-install the app, but nothing.

tx for sub 😎so, to be honest, the synth engines are way more usefull than in my TE OP-Z. i wish they open the both AWM parts for deeper editing, but for now, i found every sound lve been looking for.

nice track. i read you could switch out the 7 drums and use synths in their place. is that possible? i cant find any info on this. maybe they meant record synths to 7 sample slots. this looks realy good but only 3 synth tracks seems limiting.

Actually you can load custom samples over the drums, but you have to use a computer. It won’t work with a tablet or phone.

I pre-ordered this for $399 and, pretty excited. Question, is being limited to just 7 drum sounds, bad? Limiting? Or am I missing something here. I also bought a TE EP133 KO 2, got a broken fader so waiting on replacement, but that device has many many many different drum sounds. I am a bit concerned now. Only 7 drum sounds? And they cannot be replaced?

of course they can be replaced. You have hundreds of very high quality drum sounds in this thing. Got mine yesterday...

yes, 7 drumsounds, but you can use additional also the 5 sample slots for drumsounds, then you get 12 this way. Also, you can resample drum parts to a loop and get free slots

Good demo, sounds like an intro to a 80s 12" extended mix. What is the synth section equivalent to in the plugin or hardware world, is it a full blown FM synth or limited and what is your impression of the variety of sounds, is it enough to create most electronic music? Thanks

tx for the flowers. As i saw in the companionapp, the parameters of the DX/FM engine is quiet deep, the AWM synth 1/2 parts are (many) presets with only some adjustment parameters. For pure electronic i would paired it with one, two external pocket synth like Roland S1, Volca Bass/Keys, because the midi sequencer is very capable. Will do a demo of those pocket’s together soon 😎

thanks for warching. The 2 AWM Synths are basically fixed rom presets, their are barely adjustable, but the collection is full. However the FM/DX engine is quiet good tweakable
