I owned R15 in 2012. After 2000kms of ride, steering was pulling towards right side. In next service, my bike was diagnosed and they said we need to replace cone set and the issue is with the bearing which doesnt come under warranty. I doubt this and started digging on how it happened. Then got to know from the mechanic that the rust formed in column below key slot settled at bearing during rainy times which eventually alters bearing operation causing the pull. The service centre did not agree and I paid whole amount to get my bike because they could do damage to my bike if I let it with them after this. Then mailed to Yamaha and got a call from executive in Delhi. After explaining him the detail, I got the call from CRM (Customer relationship manager) from the service centre. After heavy arguments they agreed and gave my money back. Yamaha is good at after sales but these dealers make it a pain for us. Don't give up. Even after paying you can still get your money back. Mail Yamaha, if required even to the head quarters Japan and get your money. Most importantly, next time I went with same issue and they said no need to replace anything. Just need to clean bearing and apply grease. My bike was running smooth than before. The mechanic suggested me to avoid driving or parking in rain. Since then no issue. They always try to loot your money legally by using technical words which you would be scared to bother. Don't let them trick you. Moreover I am an Automotive Design Engineer and when they knew that I can understand what they are saying, the game changed. Stay safe. All you need to do is just ASK WHY.

I recently went to the Yamaha Showroom on OMR Road, near Siruseri SIPCOT to pick up a bike. I asked for a test ride. And they told me that I could not test ride any bike. I had to buy the bike on the basis of looks. Furthermore, the executive told me that if I wanted to test ride a bike, I had to find someone else who owned the same bike at my own effort! Forget after sales, even sales effort at Yamaha sucks!

As per the company's website the labour cost for replacement of the alloy wheel is less than 300 including GST. Filing the case against the service centre will definitely bring justice. You have digital proof as well which is a + point.

Register a case against them on the district consumer court with all the proofs you collected. They have to provide the detailed bill including spares and labour cost. You have the right to know the charges applied and they should inform you changing any spares before in you bike. If you want to raise the voice someone should file a complaint in the right place

It's not a Yamaha issue brother. It's a dealer issue. Most of the dealers they tried to cheat the customers but not all.

Around 2017/2018, at *un motors, **na Nagar, Chennai. The mechanic billed me for cone set replacement but didn’t change it at all. I found that in the next service after 3 months when the next mechanic diagnosed my bike. I complained to service manager and they changed it in front of me and they also convinced me to change some other parts which was not necessary. That was the last time I visited their showroom. The service manager told me that the mechanic would be fired by the end of that month. Not sure if they fired him or not. It’s been years and I still have the noise coming from the handle bar area when hitting some bumps occasionally. No mechanic has fixed it till date I’m just adjusting my mind and riding all along.

Lol when he is asking now , he says all labour put together is 1000rs. Before he said 1000rs just for changing wheel. In ktm here I paid 400rs, since it's outside work. Separately I paid before. But now all the labour has been unified and ktm is monitoring, so no more scamming like this. Overall very useful video bro. I have a Bajaj Discover and Tata Tiago. People usually say Japanese brands have good aftersales than Indian brands. But both Indian brands never did this to me, they always present me the bill first explain the particulars even if I am not interested in it. Then only they ask to pay. Tata even does home pickup and delivery for free avoid Japanese brands support Indian ones.

The thing is most of us customers wont even see the bill completely and pay off.
