i have a 2007 vstar 1100 and this exactly what i did to remove the buffle and the best way of doing it.

Thanks Bro! I just spent 3 hours with a 1.5" hole saw and while I did get it drilled, I cant get it out. Going to get a 2", finish drilling it out and going with he screw driver and hammer. Thanks for the honesty, I dont understand why all the videos show just drill and pull.

Think I'll buy a straight chrome set of pipes, LOL. Feel like that would be the best way. This is just too jinky for me.

Thats what i ended up doing, actually after a few miles of driving it, it wasn't having enough back pressure so i ended up removing those pipes and installing a couple of aftermarket chrome pipes
