I love the look, but they are just a little too small. I’m 5’10 and my knees were in my elbows.

I bought one I’m 6’6 340 Ik I’m pushing the weight limit but I think something’s wrong with my ski bc it won’t go over 5 mph 😂 I figured I could get it to plain and at least get across the lake but I wasn’t quite going fast enough to feel comfortable

East skis. They are not speed demons. But reliable fun for sure

These remind me of today's Sea-Doo Sparks I picked one up for a deal
@chrisbasilebuilds2 жыл бұрын
These are strange because it’s so short in the back. The ski is prob close to the same length of a spark but your sitting off the back almost. Unlike a new ski where your riding from the middle more or less.

Do you repair other people’s wave runners. I’m in Tulsa and I have this exact same one but need a mechanic to get it going. I think it’s the starter button.

How can you not have fun on a wave runner

Good afternoon, I'm Fernando and I live in Brazil, I have a wave runner 500cc 1989, it was stopped for a long time and now I'm activating it, but it works but soon after it runs out of a spark, what to do? Can you help me?

Watch this video. You need to do this fix. Replace the cdi with one from a scooter.

Thank you, I'm going to watch the video more calmly, can you tell me the correct model for the cdi?

Great looking ski. Mine is missing the white plastic “grill” on the front. It clearly lets water in. Water gets in when doing 2 180/360. I put some gorilla tape over it. Any clue if that’s a bad idea?
@chrisbasilebuilds2 жыл бұрын
I can’t remember off the top of my head but that may be the fresh air intake. There should be an inlet under the seat I think. They are all different. Usually there is a tube that is like a u. So water can get in but it won’t get into the ski. But these old skis leak a lot worse. Yamaha and there front motors tent to get more water in em cause the seals are all old

I picked up a good running 94yamaha 650 vxr ski but having trouble finding gunwhale sides to replace mine that are cracked every four to five inches.was wondering do you know a good source to find replacements.i was thinking of trying a few yrs later ski just to get the mouldings dont believe they changed till 2002 yrs.snookie pa.💥👍💥

That’s a great question. I don’t know if any way to get new replacements. I’d just try and find a parts ski in a northern state that won’t be as sun baked. I have a guy here in north east Oklahoma that parts out skis. So I usually go to him for parts I can’t get. But it’s a crap shoot if he will have exactly what you need. But I see vxr skis in Oklahoma/ Texas for sale pretty cheap all the time.

Hey Chris, I’ve got the same year make and model as you’ve got here. I had a question about connecting some fuel lines. Would you be able to assist me?
@chrisbasilebuilds2 жыл бұрын
I don’t have that ski anymore but I can try and answer your question. Maybe I can reference something else I have. Feel free and email me pictures to Chrisbasilebuilds@gmail.com

When it is broken is it easy to get parts of this waterscooter? Because he is pretty old.
@chrisbasilebuilds2 жыл бұрын
As far as I could tell parts were available. Specific things might be getting harder to find because if it’s age most definitely though.

They are pretty tippy. But me and my girlfriend rode it several times and never tipped it. I threw myself off it a time or two but that was self inflicted. These old 500s aren’t speed demons it’s pretty tame
@chrisbasilebuilds2 жыл бұрын
@@dbcycleparts I’m Not sure how they pulled that off, the pump and mounts are way different on a 760-800 than a 500,650,701 but with fiberglass anything can be done. A stock 500 though. Prob a 25 mph ski being realistic

I’d figure they are the same. Yamaha has always made skis for the world market
