Yes. Sometimes they get a restriction between the fuel line and float needle seat

1st thing to check with air cleaner off is the accelerator pump. The small brass tube, start the bike, then kill it, then watch that tube as you twist the throttle. You will see a stream of fuel shooting into the manifold if it is working.

⁠@@geezermoto7820 hey I know this is an old post I got a Yamaha Xv 1600 but but I’m having the same issue that kylematteson3038 described my bike has been sitting for years I rebuilt the carp and now seem to be running rich has some smoke and under hard throttle it’ll sputter for 15 30 seconds then clear up again for the most part but kinda runs rough in high rpm no matter what I’ve tried to adjust the little fuel an air screw on the bottom If I turn it clockwise it will help a little but I can go all the way and it’s still doing some idk is my float adjustment off or does that sound like a jet problem ??? and I did check the brass tube I do have a squirt after I shut off and twist throttle

Vent line so the fuel will flow smoothly....like punching a hole in the bottom of a can to let contents flow without restriction

yes, always start with a rebuild kit. gut the carb, soak in the one gallon carb cleaner solution you buy at auto parts house, get that card, right and tight, put threebond 1184 or yamabond 4 between intake manifolds and heads to stop air leaks, then go from there. it's most usually carb issues

If you have a vacuum fuel valve on you gas tank one of the vacuum pipes goes to it. The other 3 you plug off. These 3 are used when synching the carbs along with the 4th one. If your fuel valve has a place for a hose to go onto it, it is a vacuum valve. It it has no hose nipples, then you plug off all 4 ports on the intake manifolds

Your fuel valve is the gasoline "on -off" valve that is bolted to your fuel tank Called a fuel valve, tap or petcock

@@geezermoto7820 yes i have the oart the main jet threads into but there us a brass spacer that the person forgot to put back in can it run without that because i put the 165 jet into the sleeve without the brass spacer

@@geezermoto7820 i am pumpless now so that was thr recommended jet but there is no brass spacer i also have the 3.0 float as well and a 35 pilot jet the 37 didnt fit
