Thanks for the video. I just now got my 1987 virago to fire up and run since I got it a month ago. This bike hasn't run in over 2 years. Some of the wiring harness was missing and the valves were adjusted incorrectly and after watching your video today,I realized that the coils were connected wrong. After watching your video, I connected the wires like you did,and it fired up and ran. Yippee. Mike,from Georgia USA

How do you know which side is negative and positive ? so you could wire up a tachometer ?

12:02 thats the resistor dude. Not all caps have them, but you can test them for ohms value. Seems you had dodgy leads anyway. I bought aftermarket it think OEM would have been better.
