Maybe I'm just old, but if 45 is old ok. I have been riding for 20+ years and have tons of track days and multiple day motorcycle adventures under my belt. I've owned sport bikes, cruisers, and dirt bikes. I can honestly say I really could care less about going 100+mph, weaving in and out of traffic, and going 0-60 in 3 seconds. 0-60 in 5 seconds, the ability to go 100+ mph, crazy good mpg, and light enough to easily throw around in twisties is all I need. Once again maybe I'm getting old but as I appreciate my life, my skin, and my license, more these days, the more I see big engine sport bikes are just a waste on the street. Sure they have a place in racing, but these small displacement sport bikes absolutely have a place with experienced riders. They are definitely not just for noobs. The riding position of this bike plus the gas mileage make it a great, cheap commuter bike that you can still have plenty of fun on. I'm all about having the R3 in the rotation.

Great point! I’m coming around to the idea of self preservation while riding…maybe I’m getting old too 😉. I definitely appreciate the thrill of the larger displacement bikes, but as an all around package, the R3 makes a lot of sense. Thanks for sharing!

that's why i really appreciate my dad starting me on a 50cc when i was 7. i'm 29 now but have never took a break from riding. so 20 yrs of experience by the time i got my R3. so even with all that experience i still find the R3 has all the power i could need.... the only purpose 600cc in the garage would serve is a bike i can ride with my buddies to keep up with their bigger bikes

55, life long rider and I love my R3. My last bike was a 03 Speed Triple. I got the R3 to get used to smaller bikes before I get the 675 Daytona. The R3 is most definitely a nimble bike and hones all your riding skills to get the most out of the engine.

I'll be making a "full circle" return to this class of bikes this year. I started on a ninja 250 over a decade ago, and went up displacements only to go back down when I got hooked into track riding. I'm looking forward to having a light weight bike to chuck myself into the turns, and at my local track, be able to run through gears as opposed to being in 2nd the entire time when I was on larger cc bikes.

I would die to have this beauty here in India. Euro 5 [or the BS 6(Bharat Stage 6) as we say in India] version is yet to be launched here. The Euro 3 (or the BS 4 as we say in India) bike was discontinued in 2020. Hoping desperately for a relaunch this Nov 2022. God I hope they launch it. Its a superb sports tourer imo.

Nice video my friend, this was definitely not my first bike. My first bike was an off brand garbage, but it is my second bike and i am more then happy with it. The other one I was looking at right before I bought this one was the KTM 390 witch is often used in a comparison to the bike in this video. There are a lot of track riders that love this bike. I go with the hole mentality, that it is more fun trying to ride slower bike faster than to ride a faster bike slower. God Bless my friend have a good one.

The suspension was adequate. I don’t recall if the suspension was adjustable or not, but as-is it felt pretty good, for my weight (160lbs). Meaning it was soft enough to not cause back pain after hours of riding and tight enough to not feel squishy through turns. Definitely not a premium suspension, but good for daily riding.

This bike has the same wheelbase as a GSXR600 or any other 600-class sport bike so take his comment about it being "tiny" with a grain of salt. Yes, it has a small engine, but it is merely ever-so-slightly narrower than a 600 sport bike.

I think you could do more than 100mph on R3. I did ~170 on Mt03 which doesnt have fairings, probably could speed up little bit more but the wind is killing it at that speeds. Thinking about buying R3 because of that.

@mylordass8120 Жыл бұрын
I'm 64 Kg at 5'6 and I have had my 2021 R3 maxed out at 180 Km/h (112 Mph) and its very stable at that speed. It gets up there very quickly for a 300cc bike, the windscreen is the best I've had on a sport bike too. In the upright position the wind hits me on the top of my shoulders and helmet, in a tuck I feel very little wind resistance. The foot pegs on the rear-sets are too low for me so I have to raise my feet (tiptoe) on the pegs. you need longer legs, I'd say 5'8 at 70 Kg is perfect for this bike.

Is this bike forgiving on the throttle response like if you as a beginner were to for what ever reason give it too much throttle out of first will it dart off like a bullet fly out from under you or lift the front tire? Or is the power steady and linear? Thanks for the video demo! The bike looks great!

The power comes on in a mild manner. The front end won’t lift. I wouldn’t say that it darts off the line if you give it too much throttle. It’s a very forgiving bike and great for a rider that’s just starting out.

@TylerCharest
@TylerCharest Жыл бұрын
First bike is an exciting moment! I'm a huge fan of starting on the dirt to be honest, the skills you'd develop there will make you a better rider on the street. Having said that, you know yourself best, some folks are prone to get wild, and starting on a smaller bike would be best! If you feel like you're less likely to take excessive risks...than the R7 might work for you. That's kind of a non-answer lol. For context, I started riding on the street with a Honda CBR 600 with minimal offroad experience...I quickly regretted that decision, because the bike was too fast for my skill level at the time. You may be fine with the R7 because it's a different type of power delivery (more low end power versus power in the higher rev range), just be careful 👍

@TylerCharest Жыл бұрын
To be candid, I don’t have any firsthand experience on the Ninja 400. The seat height is about the same between the two bikes and the power output is similar. It appears that the Ninja 400 has a slightly more relaxed riding position (the rear sets seem to be slightly lower and farther forward on the bike). My guess is that you’ll fit more comfortably on the Ninja 🥷 If you get the chance to ride one, let me know what you think!

That's plenty of power. I can survive with 125 Cc. On 300 Cc that is more than double. It is not all about the engine although it determines more pulling power but most of all is the rider, rider with skills, that is the beast. It is all about technique. Like Dom says , it depends on who is behind the wheel (Fast and Furious). Again guys, that has plenty of power, more than what you need.

i saw a video where u said that people should start on smaller bikes. so What if i start on a cbr650r but put it down to 48 hp? i there any difference between a smaller bike with the same hp if its about learning how to ride?
@TylerCharest
@TylerCharest 2 жыл бұрын
If you’re able to limit the power of the 650r, that could be a safer way to learn how to ride (this assumes you know how to detune the bike or know someone who does 👌). There will certainly be differences than if you were on a physically smaller bike. For some folks the weight of larger bikes can pose issues while learning how to ride, and these 300s can help with that, because they’re so light. A detuned 650 could potentially be less exciting to ride than a 40hp 300, again because of the additional weight the 650 carries. With that said, you can grow into the 650 without needing to buy a new bike after a season or two. I hope that’s a useful answer! Thanks for tuning in 🤙

@@TylerCharest thanks! Very useful!! in Germany its a law to detune a bike to 48hp max until youre 20. what means that if i buy a new bike its automatically detuned to 48hp and After 2 years of riding you are allowed to tune it up to full hp again. every motorcycle shop does that here. all i wanted to know is about the size of the motor and if a 650 is harder to drive than a 300/400. you answered my question. thanks!!!

The brakes worked well. Would probably benefit from steel braided lines.
