From someone who uses firearms for his duty purposes and is constantly modding, buying and selling firearms, I can definitely throw in a tip. When utilizing a shell holder for a shotgun, generally speaking you never want to put the shells in from the bottom side in the holder, if you dictate battles in your head, the recoil of a shotgun and potentially throwing the shotgun around in a situation of home clearing or having to jump for cover or the such, can all make the shells fall out of the shell holder, regardless of how tight they are within it, I used the monstrum shell holder on a Mossberg 500 and demonstrated such failure. By putting the shells in from the top it not only secures the shells, but it already puts your thumb and pointer finger in the ready to load position instead of having to stick your thumb into the top and push the shell down and then grab to load. It saves literal seconds. Keeping it unloaded like you said can be essentially safe for children obviously, but I won’t unload my firearms. Someone can kick a door in first time kick and only give you like 10 seconds to realize and react. Id rather have the shotgun put under my pillow, on safe, and only loaded in the tube than to have it unloaded and sitting somewhere useless. Always treat firearms like they’re loaded and practice it. If someone “forgets” a gun could be loaded, thats someone who lacks practice.

Assault Riffle? Semi auto short burst 3or4shots full auto single action bolt muzzle load lever action etc. Assault is an action performed
@YamiadraDJ3 жыл бұрын
The word 'Assault' just means to attack. Often specifically in a military-style raid. And even within the military, semi-automatic fire is far more common in order to maintain precision and stability. Assault =/= Automatic And when the rifle I'm mentioning is specifically the same model as the most widely used Assault weapon in the history of firearms, yeah, it's an Assault Rifle. If it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck. The only people trying to make a distinction are those hopelessly attempting to preserve some sort of innocence to the weapon. It kills people. It kills a lot of people. That's what it's designed to do. That's what the lion's share of them are being used for. I'm not the one being obtuse here.
@acester86 Жыл бұрын
Shotguns are generally not drop safe, so its a good idea to not keep one in the chamber, having the chamber loaded up isnt a problem though as you should treat it as if its loaded anyways.
@dougc1177773 жыл бұрын
0:58 Stop calling it an 'AR Assault Rifle'. It's an AR Armalite Rifle. You're using the language of 2A opponents and fueling the problem. Great video otherwise, appreciate your insight on pistol grips installed on shotguns.
@YamiadraDJ3 жыл бұрын
As addressed in many other comments, and videos uploaded after this one, I am well aware that AR stands for Armalite Rifle. That does not in any way disqualify the designation and purpose of the firearm as an assault rifle.
@MasterChief05223 жыл бұрын

Wow with all those upgrades, think you convinced me to just purchase the Mossberg 590 A1 with Magpul Furniture Already installed. It has the Thick Barrel so no need for a Heat Shield. No having to Mod the Furniture as you put it. Another strong selling point is the Cerakote Finish applied... I have heard that people adding Heat Shields to the Maverick 88 need to rethink this option. The reason for which is that it hastens the build-up of Rust due to moisture build up underneath the Heat Shield. That said, cool video and thanks for the walk thru.
@YamiadraDJ Жыл бұрын
Oh for sure. If you've got the scratch, def go for the 590. I personally really prefer the crossbar safety on the Maverick, so for me, having that on the budget option was a no-brainer. As for the moisture build-up, I don't think heat shields typically seat tight enough to the barrel to really cause that problem, but maybe that's more of a problem with the metal ones.

Did the exact same build but with a flashlight and a reflex sight, I don’t recommend the slide street tactical heat shield with the magpul MOE fore end, I filed down both sides of the heat shield all the way down to the first row of holes , the shield ended up fitting but there is still too much material left on the shield that is still in the way of the action slide. Just use the Mossberg 500 heat shield and crimp it on to your barrel.

The Magpul forearm says it’s not compatible with the Maverick 88 (on their website). But you got it to work?
@YamiadraDJ Жыл бұрын
Correct. This is because the Maverick 88 typically has an action slide that uses action bars that are molded into the plastic foregrip. Thus preventing any sort of swapping. If you simply disassemble the platform and replace the Maverick action assembly with a 7¾ slide tube (typically intended for Mossberg 500) in 12g of course, then you can utilize the Magpul forend on that new, replaced action tube. Without replacing that, you will not be able to use the Magpul forend on the Maverick 88.
