I have that same slip-on on my 2018 R3 and it sound so much better in person. It actually makes a little backfire pop when you downshift or upshift aggressively. It's super awesome and more than what I expected. Oh and after using it for a few months, the heat from the exhaust gases "tempers" it over time turning the thin section of the pipe into a nice straw-golden color.
That was amazing to just go through and listen to them all 😂

Ive got the akro slip-on and actually sound really good (for a smal displacement bike). Not too loud and improves the note. It sounds best when you give it the full beans. Full-system is completely redundant for a street R3 imo.
@MotoJournoKris4 жыл бұрын
Yea full systems are big money and generally too loud, and there's no real performance gains on a small bike on the street without wasting even more money on a piggyback module and tune, although the weight savings are nice.

Just buy GSXR 600 and keep it in the gutless mode. It's like a 400cc power wide then but in a month when your like " yep this is slow " you'll be able to switch modes and have some fun. (BTW 2 weeks is not enough time to learn to ride but you get the idea) Some food for thought the price you pay for that brand new bike will net you a damn nice low ish km 600cc 2013 and up gsxr then you have the learning mode and the power mode and rain I believe. I just don't understand all these 300cc and 400cc bikes because they are cool they are great learning tools but after you learn and you've taken what you can do on that bike to its peak on the road which will happen within a few months then you have a bike with the next level built in. Just sayin. But the mt-03 looks cool as shit and all the power to ya. Also if your not a beginner and that's just what you want my apologies. Just what I tell my buddies to do when they look at jumping in the sport bike world.

Slip-ons just make the most sense for a beginner road bike, cheap, better sound depending what you buy and a moderate weight saving. Full systems are way more and really require a proper tune or piggyback module which is crazy money for bikes not putting out that much power to start with on the road, the only exception being bikes that have a one-piece exhaust system and can only take a full system.

Do cops pullover for the exhaust?
@MotoJournoKris Жыл бұрын
@@sandesh9225 I've never had an issue to be honest, even when I had M4s on an FZ6 that set off car alarms (including in front of cops one day). But there's some luck involved there, and I'd guess if you're being a nuisance, they are more likely to find a reason to go after you. I've had a slip-on on almost every bike too, but apart from the M4s I normally don't pick the loudest options. I have heard of riders being pulled over and fined for totally stock systems though. They got off eventually but had to waste time and money fighting it, despite the muffler having the stock certification printed on it.

Here is a Tip for those A1 kids who want some sound on their 1 cylinders. Directly behind the carb the air intake housing is mounted, remove that stock air intake, throw on a small "cone" Cold air intake. It completely changes the induction sound of said 1 cylinder and makes it sound like a mini sport bike. Get a smaller one for the breather hose as well.
