@@hexagonosaurus5848As of now the 450SS is $8000 CAD at my local dealer and the RS457 should come in around $9000 CAD so for an extra $1000 I would much rather have an Italian motorcycle made in India then something made by CF moto in china. I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for.

For a single, that motor is a lot of fun. Even better when it's got a FuelX on it. KTM keeps doing little upgrades here and there which is great for the bikes. Can't wait for the new 390ADV.

Dont tell me you would still be happy if ktm is still using outdated parts and a cheap build single cylinder. i could buy a twin cylinder 270 degree crank premium build cf moto 450 sr with the price of your ktm.

Actually. The CFmoto 450 engine was born for the ktm "490" lineup and husqvarna 501 line, but that project was discontinued and now we have the 450SR and 450MT instead of a RC490, 490 adventure , etc.

I owned a 1st gen 390 ,boy it was a blast . popping wheelie at will even in 3rd gear . recently got to ride a new one it feels more civilized ,still fast but chained down.

The 390 was my first bike that I bought last May and I love it!! I wish it had a little more power just for the highway commute but yes a small update would go a long way! I'm excited to see what they do next!!

So do you think a 790 would had been a better first bike for you to learn and grow with or the 390 is still the better option to learn on? I’m looking for my first gas bike , I have electric moped that has more low torque which I handle well, everyone saying the 390 is a good beginner but I feel I way out grow it in 6 months or more ..

@@obeii1805 I would say it depends on how tall/ how much you weigh. I would not have enjoyed having that much more powerful of a bike for my first just because of the acceleration and torque is already really good! The only thing I would have enjoyed more was having a higher top speed so I don't feel like I'm maxing out the bike lol! I am 5'11" and weigh 200 pounds for reference. But honestly I love my 390 and I'll probably have it for a couple more years before wanting to change just to really get all the training I can out of it!

I would put an 450cc single cylinder from exc but with less power/maintenance. I mean, the 450 exc produce 57hp... I think it could be awesome keep the 1 cylinder essence!

I've been saying that for years! If Honda, Suzuki, etc... just put a 450 motocross engine in a small sport bike. The ninja 400 is pretty close. The twin is actually better for road use for sure. But a crf450r motor in a CBR300 would be awesome. 35ft-lbs.

I think they made it bulkier for more wind protection and aerodynamics. Probably also so it looks more 'substantial' as that sells bikes. So many people buy the CBR because it feels like more bike

Also I have a ridden an A2-limitet Duke 790 and the power and acceleration was just crazy. They only capped the peak power down to 45hp but the low and mid-rev pull was unchanged from the unrestricted version. So it accelerated like there is no tomorrow. So at least in EU there is no point to offer bikes that are marginally more powerful that the A2 limit of 45hp.

I was told by someone that they were working on a rc 690 a few years ago but I never heard anything more about it. They were trying to keep it under $10000 but that was before this crazy ass inflation.

I think Bajaj should sell there Dominor 400 in European countries , it's a touring bike which comes with same KTM 373cc engine but with a warranty of 75,000km/3yrs, which is far more than any Japanese bike, or the BMW 310r faired bike

idk why honda didn't bring CBR 250rr to other region as 300rr and replace the current CBR 300r since it's pretty popular in SEA market. the CBR 250rr uses Paralel Twin engine and make around 40HP which probably can be a bit competitive to rc390 and Ninja 400

KTM is updating the RC390 with the new Dukes 399 single cylinder engine. Same hp, a little bit more Torque. Also theyre changing the looks to make it look appear like the 1st gen

x-owner of a svart401. it's not just hp and techs. rc is probably the lightest in the group (and still has room for improvement). Being the only thumper also gives it a unique character. Just keep the price and the weight low, let the fat ninja play its game, there is the 450ss to bother kawi. (not hating on Kawis, I love their bikes too)

The problem I see here is the 35kw A2 limit. The whole EU market is lost for bikes with slightly higher power output. Sure they can sell 35kw versions but that's like shooting into your own leg.

Prototypes of a RC990 have been spotted testing 3 or 4 times in the past 2 years with the first time being January 2022, only days after they started testing the now released Duke 990, and the latest one being in late July this year. So with that we might see a 2024 release although obviously nothing has been confirmed yet, all we have is spy shots from a couple different road tests but it's looking like a really nice bike with lots of visual inspiration from the RC8C. It will likely share a lot with the Duke so it won't be a full on supersport in terms of ergonomics but it should still make a really fun bike

I guesstimate a Duke 490 and RC490 being made from borrowing the CFMoto 450ss engine platform. Also, I would love a new svartpilen or vitpilen. Realistically a svart or vit 801 or 901. But my fantasy, a svart or vit 1301 or possibly 1401 now that the SD 1390 exist.

Good video. But.. two elephants in the room, imho need to be mentioned: aprilia 457 and kawasaki zx4. First lighter version of rs660, second - speed devil with inline 4. 400-500 cc rookie sportbikes niche is too saturated with the offer. And some rumors about cfmoto sr500…. I think only right thing, what can do orange - put new motor (399cc) in rc390.

Even if KTM release a updated RC390 to a RC450 with the engine in the CFMOTO 450SS. I'd still take a Ninja 400 if I was a beginner getting my 1st bike. Also with the release of the 2024 Ninja 500 there will definitely be deals on unsold 2023 Ninja 400s. Albeit those deals may only be a few hundred dollars, it's still saving you a little. It's still the GOAT of beginner bikes.

The Cfmoto or a KTM equivalent 450 is a better bike. But it's the known reliability, brand and dealer network as well as resale values that keep people buying the ninja. It's still not the best bike though. But any new rider would be happy with either. I think it's more about which of these fits you the best rather than the performance

Here is a brief explanation why royal enfield is doing as i understand when you go to purchase other bike(question and thoughtprocess in mind):- 1) will it be high on price (buying and maintaining) 2)will it be easier to mod and upgradeand will it be available localyor widely plus moding cost will set me how much 3)will it last long miles i.e road trip etc 4) can it go off-road, motorways, highways etc 5)if it fall or cause problem will I be able to fix it or will it set me back a bunch 6) will it be economical in todays world etc when you going to buy royal enfield with experice of your own or from a trusted person (question and thoughtprocess in mind)::- many of the above question but the answer is abously positive as from experince of the person or the trusted source and wmost importantly will it be as i want so you see royal enfield is trying to set a base that some of above question in future will become like water only thing you will be i your mind will be how can i make it mine company thought process as an Indian company not much in R&d Money so will have to squeeze more from the current available engines and it also alows what the customer wants as a whole not this my product buy it like others do, company is doing its R&d very slowly but effectively like in case of himalayan Scrrambler 411and Himalayan 450 and try to getmore cc without leting the customer base goas in India customer is close to god!!!

If you want to buy vehicles above 300 se 400 cc spiet bike then everyone prefers to buy KTM.If there were service centers in the capital of every state of India or in a big city of the state, then everyone could take it, it is quite affordable.Yes, if you have less money then you can buy second hand.

Ninja 400 is way more reliable than the RC 390. I've ridden both hard on track and the 400 does better, in my honest opinion. More parts/mods/track ready stuff readily available.

Screw the RS457. It’ll prob be great as a used bike a few years from now, but there’s no way I’d buy one new. It’s neutered in stock form, and you have to spend more money and jeopardize your warranty to uncork the ECU.

Kawasaki, CFmoto/probably KTM , and Aprillia are making 450 light weight bikes therefore the most lightweight classes will most likely adjust to a 450cc limit so honda just needs to cut there CBR 500 "which is 471cc" down 21cc to fit in

Considering economies are looking to get worse you'll start to see a new range of smaller bikes and these will become the mid-tier bikes. I'm just guessing of course

Honda doesn't need to do shit. The bike makes perfect 0.2kW/kg, won't get more power because of this. And will not get lighter because of this. If they put a 270° crank it's the bike to keep for life. They could also then just offer a quickshifter, and maybe suspension and brake upgrade kits. You really don't need more bike that what it already has been since 2015. And it needs a rear tire hugger..

KTM has a 500cc 270 crank degree twin cylinder engine, CF Moto is using a 450 version of it.

In Serbia both bikes are 7500€, but i got a deal for 7000€+ free quickshifter(180€) Really like the bike but sr 450 was recently on a discount for only 5500😬 Kinnda regret not buying the cfmoto

@@Shketri94you shouldn’t here in greece 🇬🇷 the price of cf moto is 6000 and ktm rc 390 7000 i regret buying the cf moto way to heavy bike and its not balanced at all when you drive the thing especially in high traffic is unbelievable bad .., and i compare the driving and everything to the rc390 2021 model that my brother has and we exchange bikes for a week

This niche market ensures a steady stream of interested buyers, even if it doesn't compete with bigger bikes. New generation of riders, there will always be young people who are new to motorcycles and to the RC390's sporty look and feel. So, even if it doesn't appeal to experienced riders, the RC390 caters to a specific group that will keep it relevant for a long time.

The cbr500r is the superior bike here. Just because they're almost 7k in the US doesn't make them expensive in Europe where the R125 from yamaha is already scratching 6k€, and with that the R3 costing about as much as the cbr500r. What is the better bike now? Not to mention that the rc390 looks like shit from the front and didn't really get better in build quality in the past decade and costing also shy under 7k. Even the Ninja400 is 7k€. All these bikes cost around 7k (I must mention that the cbr is close to 8k here. One can argue that the cf-moto is the most funky in this category. But we don't know how well they last. The biggest W for the cbr is that it feels like a big bike, which you can't say the same of for all the others (can't speak for the cfmoto, haven't seen one in person yet).

Well we can't trust the reliability of CFmoto bike as they are Chinese made, KTM RC 390 on the other hand is much more reliable than that and maintenance cost of a single cylinder is much more lower than a twin cylinder

@@chrispekel5709 The RS457 has it's production in India, so no import taxes. The total price difference is around 1L or 25% more but for that you're getting 2 cylinders, floating discs, a better frame, more electronics and a honest to god super sport.
