Whenever you purchase and bring in any expensive goods in India from abroad, you are bound to declare them and pay the duties accordingly. This is very much normal in any country, and this custom is prevalent in India since a long time.

The CCTV footage from the Delhi airport has been made public. She did not comply well when the luggage was going to be scanned. It raises suspicion for the airport authorities.

Why is she harrasing the officers who are following their duties? Many people (especially celebs/influencers) try to sneak in expensive items without paying taxes, and hence the checks are made; also weird that she's carring empty bags for show-off and then got pissed and tried to defame the authorities following Standard Operating Procedure. I'm surprised they didn't react to her bullshit. But that's one way to ruin all your goodwill; some people can't really digest compliments. She should publicly apologise for making this video, acting like she's supposed to be above law, enraged how dare the authorities check her bags for empty LV envelopes. Lol.

You open a bag after screening, means you have reasonable doubt of something valuable identified through the x-ray machine. Where is that dutiable item or items you suspected this lady to have smuggled without paying duty. The customs employees were just going on randomly trying to find something dutiable. This simply is harassment. Looking for an opportunity to take a bribe if possible. The stupid lady employee did not even know what she was looking for? When they didn't find anything, no sorry, no apology, left the bag wide open in public view no effort to even close it. These corrupt employees need to be trained on communication skills, respect for citizens of the country and pay them a good salary... They always seem to be running hand to mouth and have to resort to corruption and also begging to not put your luggage through the x-ray machines. Ma'am please do not change your views on India just because of some corrupt customs employees. What you said in the London Parliament - all Indians should take pride and give you lot of respect and love which you rightfully deserve. In the course of next few years these so called public servants will also learn and become civilized.

This happens in all parts of the world. I experienced this in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, and is quite normal. Immigration officers inspect the luggage of random passengers all the time. There is nothing wrong with this. They are just doing their job.

Yana evn this happened with me also I put my powerbank in my luggage and when reached to destination the airport authority told me that ur language has been in India in Delhi airport they snd me my luggage after 4 days 😐
