John meets with his aunty's contacts; a Korean couple who has lived and worked in Yanbian for over 10 years. Mr. and Mrs. Choi take John out on a ride to visit the Tumen river, the narrow stretch of water that connects the borders of China and North Korea.
In December 17th 2016, I took a trip to Yanbian, China to see for myself the interesting group of people living in this area. Most of the footage was taken with a Gopro strapped on to a hand pole hidden in my inside jacket pocket.

This city is known best for its big Korean ethnic community, where the majority immigrated to this area long before the Korean war. With acknowledgement even by the Chinese government, this area is labelled as a Korean Autonomous Prefecture, where even national signs are created with both the Chinese language and the Korean.
