Yanmar N22 (22Hp at 1100rpm) Excellent old engine, still a reliable and efficient backup diesel generator. I don't know how old it is but they certainly do not build them this way any more.

now this is a tank low rpm heavy parts for an engine like this looks like you could run it for months reminds me of the old u boat engine runs a long time non stop

we have this generator. the only problem is the regulation of voltage because you only have the lever that goes up and down unlike auto regulators

Sweet. So sweet. Love that sound. I did a vid on a 1 and 3 cylinder Yanmar diesel recently. Are you still using this genny? Very nice man I love that sound!!! Steven

They also made twin-cylinder horizontals but I don't know if they ever sold them outside of Japan. Yanmar still makes similar engines but not ones this powerful.

Tham Tran 22hp in relation to power generation would equal 15kw if the generator had no losses. But for small generator at 80% efficiency the real power exported would only be 12kw. However, the large flywheels allow for short durations of larger power to allow for starting inrush on large motors.
