I am so excited to find such a beautiful design and you demonstrate it so well! Thank you very much for sharing it with us. I am using this design to make a Christmas blanket. The center is red like the poinsetta flower, surrounded by green for the leaves, on a field of white. Also, for those who need a written pattern for the motif, I have written down what I saw demonstrated. (I did not write down the join as you go steps.) Please note that RATR means Repeat Across the Round. This column will not let me use the asterisk to indicate repeats. -- Motif Squares-- Round1- Ch8, join ends together in a circle. Ch3, RATR (DC into the circle, but do not finish the stitch, hold loop on the hook)x3. There are now 4 loops on your hook. YO and draw thru all 4 loops and ch1 to close, (note: The ch3 counts as a dc. You have just made a cluster of 4dc. All of the round1 clusters will have 4dc.) Now Ch4. RATR Repeat from RATR to RATR until you have a total of 8 petals in the circle. Join with SS to the top of the beginning ch3. Cut yarn, tie off, join next color in any Ch4 space. Round2- With new color Ch3, 2DC in same space, RATR Ch2, SS into next space, Ch2, 3DC in next space,Ch3 and 3DC into same space (corner was made)RATR Repeat from RATR to RATR until 4 corners are made. Ch3 and join with SS into top of the beginning Ch3. Cut yarn, tie off, join next color in any corner space. Round3- With new color, Ch3, then 2DC in your corner space. RATR Now you will put 3DC into the round1 loop that you slip stitched into on the previous round. (You will be working around both the round1 loop and the round2 Ch3) Again you will Ch3 and make another 3DC in the same loop. Now in the corner space 3DC, Ch3, 3DC.RATR Repeat from RATR to RATR around. Again, thank you so much!! God Bless!
