Hey everyone.
I was hesitant on buying a electric log splitter as i was thinking it was not going to do the job. I was thinking it would of been underpowered and not able to do the job. I watched a few different people who had some and I was like ya know what i am going to go pick one up. I really wanted a gas powered but it wasn't really in my budget and i didn't have a hole lot of space to store it.
So electric i went and it is so far a very good piece of equipment. Sense the video I ran the splitter for 12 hours straight one day cutting around 3 to 4 courts of wood. It is not as fast as gas powered or processing units but for the price of it being $500 or less it does the job and i can pick away throughout the year on getting my wood cut for the season.
Hope you enjoy the video and make sure to like this video and to subscribe to the channel for future content.
I will do a update video in the future of my thoughts on the splitter.
Thanks for watching.

I bought my electric log splitter from Harbor freight I tested for others for more expensive one was a 9 ton one was a 7 ton and the last one was a 5 ton I’ve had it for two years now I have splits more than 30 cords of wood make sure the oil was full the wingnut was open five turns and split the most Notty wood that you can find went through it like a champ still to this day not a flaw I paid $280 plus tax I was a little skeptic because it was Harbor freight but I have to say that’s one thing but I can give them five stars a little advice put a sliver of wood behind the pusher so it won’t go back on the all the way if all your logs are the same size you can’t beat the price excellent splitter for the money my neighbor went to get one after he seen mine for the second year and they were sold out anyways have fun everybody’s splitting wood and burning cheers to all you loggers out there

lysist ~The Yardworks 6 Ton has a Foot Pedal on-off but someone said the cable is too short? But I want one. The 6 Ton is on sale at Canadian Tire for about $500 CDN right now. The 6 Ton is better than the 9 Ton, 107 "vs" 167 LBS pounds. Even Yardworks 4 Ton has plenty enough power strength, the Yardworks 9 Ton is way overkill and "not" needed. Also the 9 Ton is way too heavy to carry around with a persons 2 arms but the 6 Ton is not too heavy.

I used a left over stand from a previous electric wood splitter to get it to waist high, and have a table on the opposite side from where I stand to catch the split coming off on that side!

Thanks for this video! Just got one of these today. I split about 15 face cords (White Ash) this past fall by hand (A lot of work!!) and I'm going to have a lot more than that to split next summer/fall as the Ash Borers have ravaged all my Ash trees, So I'm so glad the 9 ton will be able to the job. Cheers and Thanks again!!

I've had a 5 ton for about 8 years. The tires are crap, and 1 of the knobs busted off the bottom of the motor, but it still works well after all this time. Pretty impressive with what you pay for them. Mine is pretty beat up. I've also set it up on about 15" high blocks to help with bending, or just sit on a bucket. I only wish I had the foot pedal, which wasn't available at that time. Your finger or thumb will get sore after a couple hours using it, just from holding that button in, at least mine sure does.

Go Harbor Freight and buy a foot switch, plug the unit's cord into it and the extension cord into the foot switch cord, then you are ready to go! Foot operated! I use an extension clamp to hold the switch closed, and thus was able to change my unit from a 2 handed operation to a one handed operation.

Thanks for the video I got this for $200 off at Canadian Tire, The thing weighs just as much as I do and yes I got it running in my basement. Not the greatest splitter but we'll see if it lasts longer than the 4-ton. Also, check your oil every cord these things go through it and I assume it just gets hot and thickens up on the inside because there are about 4 liters that I have no idea where it's gone

Use a bungee cord to hold down the leaver that way you can just push the forward button with one hand and the other can be put on the block to prevent any splits flying back you ....after its split pull up on lever and stop it wherever you want for the next block ...

I am not sure but they are sold at Canadian tire. I would talk to your local Canadian tire. They may have a company that is local to your area that may fix them. Also Question Did he open the breather for the hydraulics? Located near the splitting triangle. There is a valve that needs to be open to release pressure.

Might be a good idea, but probably don't want the wedge to be too slippery - there still needs to be some grab to split the wood without it slipping off too much. If anything, the wedge/splitter head is probably the strongest part of the machine.

The splitter is junk. Period. I had mine for 1 season doing 12 chords. We keep it in a heated garage off season/storage. One day the actuator packed it in sending the control rod out the case shearing the sirclip/snap ring. Trying to get it repaired which is an ongoing issue even under warranty. Buyer beware. Finding a repair place, even when calling the 1-800 numbering the manual, was difficult. My 5 ton CT splitter is built much better than the 10 ton and lasted years. Disappointing.
