We danced the soles off of our shoes, at clubs, here in Detroit, when the DJ"s played this amazing tune...

Alison Moyet has an amazing voice ... it goes so well with the early 80s electronic movement... soul and technology together

The way you enjoyed this song I can just imagine you when you listen to New Order "Blue Monday" 💕

Karl I agree....Blue Monday....Classic floor filler back in the 80s. It's one of those tunes that has stood the test of time and still keeps them on the floor. Good 80s tunes still get me Bopping.

Also a foot note if you listen to Alison Moyet laughing during this song it was added and not intentional. Also if it sounds familiar it's been sampled on a few songs more notably "Macarena" by Los del Rios and Samantha Fox (who can not forget our Sam) "I wanna have some fun". But it's been sampled in 93 diff songs to date....

If you close your eyes and let the vibe move you, you will be time warped to an 80s dance club. 😊😉

After Yazoo split up, Alison did some strong solo material, including a song called "Invisible" (written by Motown songwriter Lamont Dozier), and Vince Clarke formed the duo Erasure with Andy Bell, who had several great danceable hits, particularly "Blue Savannah," "Chains of Love," and "A Little Respect." Personally, I've always thought this song was also perfect as a transition in/out of the Cha Cha Slide.

Hard to believe that originally this was only released as a B side to Only You. Yazoo only had two albums. This one Upstairs at Eric's and my favourite You and me Both. Both fantastic though just like this reaction

I listened to lots of Brit synthpop in the 80's, you couldn't avoid it, but somehow never yazoo.
@SweetDreamz02232 жыл бұрын
How can you listen to synth pop in the 80’s and not listen to Yazoo? With Vince Clark of Depeche Mode & Erasure. He was the master of synthesizer & Alison Moyet’s soulful sultry voice that make up Yazoo. You was really missing out!!!

You should react to Clown by Switchblade Symphony! They were a 90’s band that combined experimental goth rock instrumentals with opera influenced vocals!
