as it is, this weapon cannot be bellow S- but i heard in the video that you want to use it again, when you use it with a katana in power stance you will see why it suddenly becomes an S+ to the max, the stamina consumption on this weapon doesn't change regardless of the weapon you use for the power stance. The poise damage of the weapon is really low, but because of how much it attacks, you could stagger a lot, maybe this video has more bosses staggers than any other but i could be wrong, if you use the stone ring you could have 2x more staggers at worst and 3x at best

A KZfaq channel you should definitely shoutout is Domo3000. He literally shows the hitboxes in the code for the souls series, probably the ultimate defence of ds2 from a hitbox point of view. He shows even ds3 has worse hitboxes.

Ive been doing a sl1 to ng7 and i kid you not a poison broken straight sword is so useful for offhand just to poison bosses when they are buffing up with reduced damage. Or a raw infusion with a buff using the stone ring to stunlock enemies because of low stamina cost. And considering how you can have an infinite amount of them if ones about to break you can swap to another lol. Id say that this is easily the most *broken* broken straight sword in all of souls for how strong it can be when set up right.

I tried this sword in DS3 and it's BRUTAL. Had to level up faith for Dark and Lightning Blade to carry me 😭 you're making this look way too easy

I've always maintained (to the hatred of my homies) that ds2 is monumentally underrated even as an officially rated like 9 out of 10 by most publications at release. but straight up I think ds2 would've been an elden ring level leap for the series if the games development wasn't so messy and especially if the game wasn't forced to launch on 360 ps3 era when next gen was already a year into its life span and scholar launched in 2015. so much of this games DNA ended up unashamedly in elden ring have u ever wondered why any non open world segment ends with some sort of boss encounter? it's because the director of ds2 had thought certain segments of 1 were unremarkable since they didn't culminate in boss fights. thus we got a boss for every area and mini area lmao, the frequency of invasions in elden ring? again he thought the npcs in ds1 were a mechanic that wasn't used enough so we got a thousand placed npc invasions in ds2. even bosses elden ring has a *problem* with "ganker and reused bosses" ? it's because ds1 has a single infamous early game gank boss and he simply thought it was an easy way to semi fairly scale difficulty for a relatively easy boss. what does any of this actually mean? who the fuck knows but it's faaaaaaar to coincidental . AFAIK Miyazaki has never directly mentioned inspiration from ds2 but seeing as it's the ONLY one he didn't direct and how elden ring has soo soo sooo many ideas that ds2 coined.

Broken Straight swords are a blast. Never stuck with them all the way as a build though. Maybe I'll; try them as an offhand with a straight sword or katana though if you say it's even better. I think Silverback is still my favorite weapon though with that triple dark buff potential.

I remember reading somewhere that Lud, Zallen, and Ava share a mechanic with Sinh that makes most weapons take more durability damage due to gaving "tough hides", but that the cats ain't supposed to have it be as pronounced? Apparently it's a lot worse with scythes and halberds, too. Anyway iirc the durability damage modifier gets busted when you play at higher FPS so instead of taking 2x damage your weapons can be eating 4x or more.

Hey Yaz. After discovering my favorite weapon in ds3 (Heysel Pick with max cast speed true combos with melee spells. A spellblade's dream). I played the shit out of ds3 for like 5 times in a row and now I'm pretty accustomed to ds3's speed of input read and the game in general, making ds2 insufferably slow for me. What speed do you play this game in, and what program you use for speedhack? Cheat engine? P.S. That sky color felt appropriate for a hex build P.S.S Yeah NPC invaders teleport back to the place they spawned after not getting engaged with for a while. A forlon chased me through the forest of giants area and got lost while I ran away to kill all the mobs before fighting her, I couldn't fight her again until I got back to the king's gate before giant lord bonfire and she was just there waiting XD P.S.S.S (lol) I just experienced the glory of beating Fume Knight with lightning rapier on 1.4 speed, with Diary of Jane playing in background :) was amazing
