A group of narcotized people are subjected to a machine that sucks out any perception of happiness.
When a misfit is rejected from the process, he is cast down to the underworld where he meets like minded and life filled people. Their light and color is infectious, and they rise from their dungeon to free those afflicted by the machine.. much to the dismay of the tyrannical overseer.
In this music video I brought back the main character from my film "Pour 585" to act as the tyrannical overseer to an assembly line to exerts it's thought sucking process to drain the inhabitants of this dark world. The sole reject is cast down to join the other misfits, who ultimately save the victims of the machine. It was an interesting story to draw, many thanks to Wantaways!
One of my favorite things to draw is imagery to music. Music can be a very visual medium if you close your eyes and allow the melody and lyrics to paint a mental picture. What I do is visually translate that image into animation, and often times a story writes itself. For example, this story, about a misfit in a world of conformists. I borrowed a few reoccurring concepts from my other films, namely, PITTARI, which had a character's head shape that fit into a boulder. You can watch PITTARI here: • “PITTARI” The Devil is... Also.. in general the factory concept, which I use very often. The "Assembly" line feel which I used in my film MASKS • "MASKS" Exploitation l... and there are plenty other themes that I keep coming back to.. themes that are just stuck in my head and I have to revisit, re-formulate, and articulate in subtle and not so subtle ways. This is actually so wholesome. I think the whole story here is that forcing yourself in the "norm" can hurt you. You shouldn't try to force yourself to be someone else, just be who you are. Everyone is different, it's what makes you... you.

@@PatrickSmithAnimation oh I thought For 585 has left a much longer species giving its own blood just to just a test everything else but in the end there is some different ones that have been cast to out of society exiled like they're different aliens in fact exile to the void and they finally take over meaning that different ones will be normal again but the experimentation from poorer 585's blood have left the regulars cold sad tired and hurts it's a story of eventual difference and pain leaving poor 585's revenge on the Innocence until the misfits come out and save them

why am i feeling the moral of the story is that no one lives the same life but deep down we are perfect and we dont have to fit in just to be happy live the life you have wanted to do cause no one else is gonna stop you from doing it fitting in doesnt make you a very happy person, its about someone who accepts you for who you are.

But that someone should be yourself as the first priority...do not search outside for comprehension, just feel connected with yourself...easy to say, way harder to do it...im always on that path and it is a tough one sometimes, amazing other times, but always a teaching way of living, I'm 51 years young, and still in practice of live, maybe I'll get to expert level when I die

What I learned from this is that it's ok to be different, fitting in is the same as being like everyone else. Society has led us to feel or believe that being a misfit is shameful but in all honesty being the same doesn't create much openness and originality and knowing that truth is what will set you free.

I honestly think people misunderstand what it means to be a misfit from society. I'm a misfit and I can tell you that more and more awfulness comes from it. It does not mean I can change the world or people around me. What it means is that I have a lot to work out and work with in order to function along with society once more. Society isn't something that just boots you out. It is something you become out of touch with. Some are born and doomed away from society, such as myself. Even after you find those who are like you, they still won't be anything like you. I think this is a huge thing to recognize because no matter how you look at things, you are alone and have only yourself to depend on when trying to be the best person and you possible.

This is amazing video. I was so happy to see it, because I'm feeling the same way from my childhood. I was thinking differently than other girl's and a lot of people said that it's innormal. As a misfit of society i can tell you that everyone sooner or later will know that something is wrong with you. In my life I have met some people that later on I defined as "friends"... well just to find out that I am nothing to them and everyone else too. When you are to diffrent from others the society will slowly but surely kill you. Finding people that think a similar way to you can spend a lot of hope, because this means youre not alone even when it always feels like that. In my past I got bullied. I got dropped by friends when I mostly needed them. And at some point I dropped myself. I live but I just can not call it that. It is an existance but no life. And to be honest... every day I wake up i end up wondering why I didn't killed myself long before. Life got meaningless to me. And now I life to have fun and see and learn all the things I want to. From the outside everything is ok with me but on the inside im just a shadow of myself... a broken shadow. Please don't end up like this. For me it's not possible to get out of this hole. When you feel bad go to your closest friends and talk with them and when they don't want you go to your parents. No one should suffer the same fate as I do.

I relate so scarily much, though I'm not necessarily a misfit but it feels like everyday is meaningless my only reason for living now is just learn and explore new stuff, luckily it hasn't gotten to the stage where I straight up commit suicide but I've had multiple of those episodes where my mind just becomes so filled with doom and all my stress that it feels like suicide is the only way to escape. Luckily it happens way less often. You have probably had much worse experiences than me, but I just thought I'd share, parts of your comments perfectly describe how I felt before I sort of reset my mind.

When i was younger than 19 years , a student at secondary school, i never get friends even though i was very kind , helpful, smart and talented girl , in first time i didn't knew why but one day someone told me that i am so different girl so that's why they refused me as a friend , and now i thank god for making me alone , cause lonelyness gived to me a large space for creativity ! I found my self and my happyness in fine art cause it gives me an empty world to full it with beautiful things and painting it with bright colors as i want , and make it so different and better than this sick world ! The way I see it is that the ones who are perfect are depressed and the ones who aren’t perfect are the happy ones. My interpretation is that you don’t need to be perfect in every little detail. The haters can hate but it shouldn’t stop you from being your true self. The video shows that we shouldn’t let the bigger power control us. We create our own destiny not them our fate is what we make of it, what we do, how we act, and what we say. They may have more power but what they don’t have is happiness, creativity, and the rights to be who we wanna be. What makes this animation feel so relatable is the fact that I have no friends. And it’s not because I’m a bad person, for some reason I always find the wrong people to be friends with. If I don’t agree with their views they automatically see me as a bad person and hate me. Even though I accept them for who they are and support them in their own ideas. And the worst part about this is that I’ve met people like them ONLY! Whether it be on the internet or in irl. But I found out I should just be myself. I wanna help people, no matter how small it may be. No matter how much they hate me and I hate them I’ll still help. Cause it’s what I like to do. And I wish to inspire others one day with the art I may make in the future, inspiring them to be kinder, more caring, more gentle, and accepting in this world I believe is filled with too much hate, sorrow, and pain.
