i think he had alot of weird injuries he needed to overcome and it took a long time for him to get well. now he's more interested in pursuing medicine as a career path (which obviously makes more sense financially and health wise). i'm sure he's still gonna coach and be relevant in the fighting culture. i see him cornering his younger brother fighting in EFC who is also a beast

But some people are theorizing that facial hair protects you from aging because it blocks the dirt, sunlight and everything. Look when people with beards shaved it for video/surprise/prank purposes.
