Nice video......should clean off the drive disc afterwards with brake cleaner. it will start to slip with the lithium grease on there.

Can I use regular grease. I noticed lithium grease spray turns into something hard.

For me I use marine grease that is very good grease for low temperature and wet environement if not snowmobile grease is very recommended@@MrStaybrown

You have to cover the friction disc before spraying. Otherwise slipping will occur

Meanwhile I haven’t done a lick of maintenance on my Simplicity I bought new 10 years ago.😂 Still runs great oddly enough. I run it dry every season with a little fuel stabilizer and she cranks right up the following season. I should change the oil though….

Spraying that grease without covering the drive plate is a bad idea.

Covering your drivers disc plate is a better idea witan paper towel then take a rag as d put so carb cleaner on it and clean off the excess grease will keep it from slipping on the auger disc.

After whipping it down I have not had an issue with it slipping.

When I'm done spraying the grease I wipe off the friction with a little bit of brake cleaner

It really depends on how much it gets used. Check the manual for suggested maintenance periods.

The video is misleading because the grease he sprayed on the friction wheel will will not allow the drive System to propel the is snow blower forward and reverse. As others have commented, The last part of the job is to use a metal cleaner and a Clean rag to wipe the friction disc completely clean and free of any lubricants whatsoevereal. But the narrator of the video is correct in that The gears and the hex shaft should be lubricated. But, importantly the last part of the job is to clean the friction disc So that It is free of any lubricants on the surface of it whatsoever.

The manual for mine actually says to use never seize on that. So probably grease would work too. They say never seize so it doesn’t migrate to the friction disk.

I have not used that.
