Evergreen is the first time she was able to go back to a church after her mother committed suicide. That's an amazing song too. But everything she does is masterful. Yebba was the name her mother called her, which is Abbey backwards. Yebba was raised in West Memphis in the Evangelical church where her father is pastor. She was leader of the Praise and Worship group, which influences her singing, as do the blues, gospel, and other influences.

There is no studio version. This was the first time she performed this and she captured lightning in a bottle. And even subsequent live versions are nowhere near as good as this. I also think it would be exhausting to repeatedly access the raw naked emotional vulnerability that fuelled this performance. There's a ton of great live performances from Yebba on KZfaq. Her Tiny Desk concert (of 4 songs) is outstanding. You should also check out live performances of Evergreen, Boomerang, Gravity (with Clark Beckham) and Smoke (with Luke Levenson) and various songs performed live at Electric Lady. TBH her studio recordings are mostly inferior to her live performances.

Yebba stated that she would never perform this song again. It was given by Yebba to the world. She wanted us to have it. She has written and sing quite a few songs. One I love is called October Sky, it's about her mother. My fave version of it is where she sings it in a field along with a male guitarist, she plays guitar.too in the video. She has incredible range, incredible power, and when she sings she is so in tune with the instruments playing along with her. She is absolutely outstanding, and a real life hidden gem. Thank you for playing her song. You will not find a studio version of it, as I said, this is the one and only recording of it. God bless you. Happy New Year!

Incredibly sad fact a month after this performance and on the cusp of her major breakthrough in the music industry her mother committed suicide. Which kind of put the breaks on her career for a few years but she’s back with a vengeance now and the last couple years. Ok so, one major thing about Yebba is as amazing as her studio versions of her songs are, her live performances are on a whole other level, I pretty much only listen to her live recording now. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend you give these Yebba live performances a reaction : - Boomerang- Yebba - October sky’s- Yebba (this one is about a memory she has of her mother when her and her brother were kids and about her grief because her mother committed suicide in October 2016) - Her tiny desk concert is out of this world amazing and has 4 songs

@@poloreacts27 her mother committed suicide BEFORE this. This was the first time she performed anything, let alone an original, in front of an audience, after her mother’s passing. It’s my belief that she drew the “this is the end of the world” feeling we’ve all felt in love - when singing this - but she was absolutely thinking of and singing to her mother. Listen again with that lens. “Evergreen” is about her mother, and after the suicide.

Also, as you replay and witness how many times she’s looking up and singing with such pain and anguish - know that he grew up and grew up singing in the church. So she’s weak and she is strong. But she is absolutely bringing all walks of life speechless. This might be the first reaction I’ve watched without the reactor shedding a few - we all respond differently to observing pain. Thanks for this. I feel you her and her mother justice 🙌🏼

@@samantha9445 Nope not true, she’s said multiple times (and most recently I read in her glamour mag interview) that it was AFTER this performance “The singer first gained recognition in September 2016, when her captivating performance of the song “My Mind” at a Sofar Sounds presentation went viral on KZfaq. The attention was enough to jumpstart Yebba’s career-but then, just weeks later, Yebba’s mother, Dawn, died by suicide.” - her glamour article.

She's awesome.... As far as I know, there isn't a studio version of this song. Her song October Sky is also really good. Dedicated to her late mother. A mark of a true musical artist is that live is always better than studio. More emotion is poured into a live performance and Yebba pours it on thick. Check out her live stuff on her NPR tiny desk concert and her Live from Electric Lady studios videos where she has quest love playing drums for her.

Yebba has worked hard maintaining control over her career. After her mom passed, she knew she had to work through it with song. Apple Music produced a song for her, Evergreen, that got a lot of music producers’ attention. However, they wanted her to change her sound and move away from the sadder songs about her feelings about her mom. But Yebba declined and instead did collabs with other artists while she wrote and recorded the way she wanted to do it. One of her songs, Louie Bag, was written after she was told by music labels that she would be a big star (and could buy all the Louis Vuitton bags she wanted) if she would just get past the death of her mom. Her journey has been slow but it’s been on her terms. This year, she opened for John Mayer. She also has some live performances at The Electric Lady in which Pino Paladino played bass. Pino also plays bass for John Mayer a lot and did so on this latest tour. She’s making a lot of traction right now!

Yes you are right when o watch her even comment on between sets I get the sense she has been through some kind of emotional trauma. Honestly most artists have been through some ish. They say that a good many bi polar people tend to move toward the arts which is very true . It’s a place where they have more freedom because the arts are about living and striving outside the box. There is also a lot of drug use with artists mostly due to self medicating because they are undiagnosed especially back in the day. Nowadays we are more educated about this but great artists like Nina Simone really suffered greatly. Back in the day

I have been thinking of how to approach you on this particular artist and video, first of all I did a search on your channel, and you have not reacted to this artist, and particularly this performance. Me personally, this particular video performance had an effect on my life, I can't say that about every video I have listened to, this will be your own personal experience, something out of this world is coming through Diana as she performs this song, it grabs you and will not let you go, I'm saying these few words to get your attention, I am not the only person to have this particular video performance change their lives. Some advice while watching and listening to this video, do not take your eyes off her, keep your eyes fixed to the screen while playing the video, watch every inflection of emotion and feeling coming through her, another thing listen very carefully to her voice, it will cut to your soul like a razor blade, and last of all open your soul to her voice and let it possess you completely, and watch what happens to you when you reach the end of this mesmerizing performance by Diana Navarro. Don't be concerned that the song is in Spanish, just listen and feel. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hseJqrt_3q_Jf5c.html Currently 2,445,210 views

You know I'd preferred live performances where you actually can see how talented someone is there's no hiding behind auto tune. I follow you and a few other people that react and and you all react different to this song and to this song and I have to say you have Is a very kind face. I am very much into Faces they say eyes Are the windows to the soul but I think it's the face
