Very interesting, similar bale mantapa still bigger and more in number we can see in Talakad Sri Pancha Lingeshwara temple. I think that was built during Ganga period or Chola period.

These are beautiful and priceless national treasures therefore it's doubly sad & painful to see trash (by inscriptions )which are over a millennia old !!! Those Stone inscriptions need a good power wash and need to be shifted ( asap) to the closest national museum for further preservation !!!
