Some insider snippets: - the timing of the recording was crucial. Too soon or too late and we don't get the sunrise and all the nice golden/yellowish colors. Talk about pressure. - we had the very good luck of not encountering any early joggers. - it was recorded in Praia do Gaivota, Peruibe, Brazil. A 3 hour car ride from us. Yes, Daniel made us wake up at 3 am. - the intro is a shout out to Padim's Sky full of Stars clip. As if he was running it back and deciding to play Yellow this time (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pc-XbMemvNLUhaM.html) - if you notice, it's almost as if Daniel is walking in the frontier of day and night, light and shadow. As if he is running from the sunrise and wishing to extend the night and keep looking at the stars. The whole clip's concept revolves around this. - the intro and choruses are always framed to have the sun invade the screen. - the parts with the harmonics (stanzas) in the middle and in the end are always framed with more "night", and the waves reaching his feet. - the waves coming at the most auspicious moments, synching with the song's structure, was one of those things that we can't plan for. It's just really good luck, an improbable confluence of nature and art. That was, in the end, the main reason why we chose to use this take, despite some minor shaking, and not the previous or following ones. - Daniel runs ugly, and the slow motion enhances it. - the above was my favorite part of the whole process. I wish there was a slower motion. - Erik, stunning camerawork, you are incredible, but #erikpleasedontshakethecamera
