I got to work with him (I'm a rock photographer in Philly) back stage and photograph on stage as well twice now....he is the closest thing I have experienced to a super hero. He took a huge hit w the cancer he had & just got right back on stage & is fantastic!!! Total inspiration.

Yellowman is legendary. He was the first dancehall superstar to get a US record label in 1982. At one time in Jamaica after Bob Marleys death ,he became the most selling reggae artist in Jamaica for a while. Bob Marleys family would invite him to their house so he can toast (rap) for them.

I love his ode’ to Michael Jackson with his outfit! Billie Jean, Beat It, Thriller all came out in 82’ and you can definitely see Michael’s Style in what the legend Yellowman is wearing, and even in some of his mini dance moves!! So cool!!
