Bison and Yellowstone National Park are both symbols of conservation. The two are practically synonymous as bison roam through the Yellowstone wilderness from season to season. Nothing, however, evokes a more primitive look in the lower 48 than Yellowstone bison in the winter. Having survived the harsh elements for thousands of years, their thick fur helps them to endure brutally cold weather. In February of 2011, I headed up to the interior of the park and was able to get lots of footage of bison grazing and relaxing in the snow. Here are a few clips compiled together that I enjoyed from the Upper Geyser Basin around the Old Faithful area, as well as Biscuit Basin.
