Dude!!! I was beginning to think that I was the only one that thought this way and posted comments like this. You are so right, 1000% correct!!! Too many producers over the past few years have been copying this same old, well worn format. It's been done to death.... and way too many producers are still using this format. 2 minute intro, 2 - 3 minute breakdown with no beat (therefore 2 minutes where you can't dance), the build up and the cliched and often poorly executed/implemented drum roll, then finally the drop which lasts a minute and a half, and then just when you're getting into it the outro starts and its all over. :( Sam Laxton is one of the few producers that dare to give us two drops ... hence the reason I dubbed him Sam "2 Drop" Laxton. Ha! :D Sadly we're in the days when presets and cliched formats are the quick and easy way. I mean it seems to be all about quantity not quality these days. Originality and creativity are nowhere to be found.

I agree with you. Makes it difficult to build an energetic set. I try to keep those tunes further away from each other in the mix. But I also feel Trance is getting better the past few years. 2023 so far has brought a lot of really good music. Mostly a lot of peak time Trance to be more specific. ❤
