I’ve been trying to figure out how to make a bigger frame. This was awesome Thank you!!

Hi there Morley! It's funny how the universe seems to always be listening to usl! A few weeks ago I couldn't find a good DIY tufting frame video to save my soul and suddenly I'm ready to pull that tufting trigger and buy the whole kit and my only issue is trying to find a good frame that does the job and is bigger than a postage stamp!! They all look so cheap and cost a fortune! I don't get it!! Normally I wouldn't draw the conclusion that making my own frame in my wood work shop, that I don't have, with all those awesome tools that I don't own, would be the my best bet but sadly I think that's not only my best option but my only option! And the really cool part is, I can just call up all my totally awesome wood working aficionado buddies who are always at the ready to give their 'Tufting virgin' a helping hand! But the truth of it is, I don't have one to call my own!! I've never used a power drill and the last time I went to Home Depot, I must of sniffed something I shouldn't have because I had to be rushed to the ER after I spiralled into the near death pits of anaphylactic shock!! haha But if there is one thing no one can accuse me of being is a quitter or a not even starter! How hard could it be?? Famous last words!! haha And of course I don't just want to build a normal, practical frame like normal intelligent people. Where would the fun be in that?? The room that all this magic will be tufted will have a few vocations, I'm hoping to use a passions of mine, taking that which is functional but not pleasing to the eye and work my bling magic!! Because I'll be doing a podcast in there, created content, when guests come it is the only guest room, plus my resin art, sewing, painting, jewelry design and various other artsy stuff, this rather small room, at the moment gutted from flood.....when all is said and done, it will be a very busy room!! Having said ALL that, I was thinking of jazzing it up a bit to go with the decor of the rest of the home that isn't gutted. I could make a gorgeous Victorian room divider and or back drop for filming and recording. Parts of the wood could be stained but using stencils and different shades of gel stains to give an inlay look once all the mouldings, corbels, brackets, appliqués etc are added. For that matter, some fancy foot work with some burl veneer would be coo!! I have a ton of gold leaf foil which would be nice on the accents. Maybe do the base in black chalk paint and wax which would give it a matte metallic look. Maybe add some dowels across the top with a top decorative shelf with mouldings which I make myself out of clay or resin and do some built in lighting, I have some antique gold sconces that would be great! I could also find some decorative antique hardware like hooks etc to hang equipment on. And maybe build into the base, some storage for supplies. I actually have some really cool wooden legs that look like claws feet which maybe work. Maybe the base could be like a bench or ottoman to have the storage and to make it more sturdy And could be used as a step up to get to the top of the frame. A built in power bar could be good as long as it's hidden! And then to cover the frame when it's not in use, some beautiful fabric with tassels and fringe to give it that formal Victorian look. Maybe if it didn't make it wobble, it could go on castors/wheels to move it around with ease. And after all that, I think that would be one hell of a room divider or privacy screen etc. Or.... put a pale cotton cloth with red drapes on either side and it could also be a pretty cool movie screen with the projector!! And that's in case you find yourself in Montreal and feel like a good tufting challenge! Take good care,

How long should the feet be to be stable? Simple and beautiful design!

I saw he claps the smaller frame to the table to tuft. Does the larger one need to clamp down also or the long legs allow it to be sturdy and not need a wall brace?
