@@maxiona714 German aid goes to NGOs and their lavish lifestyles with German staff in Germany getting the lion's share while GIZ in Yemen rents hotels, luxury cars and pays high wages for their staff and photographers to show that they "helped" with colorful brochures. The UN and all other NGOs do this too. Now the real German aid is weapons and bombs dropped on Yemeni children and German weapons used along with other NATO states in their sea, air and land blockade on Yemen.

Wow, Americans are so insular. Before the USA got anywhere near Vietnam, France had fought a long and destructive war in Vietnam against Marxist forces. Americans really should be encouraged to at least travel to other western countries like Europe, Australia, etc to broaden their understanding of the world.

This was so fascinating. Thank you for making all of these videos. American public schools never go this far into 20th century history. I had to take special classes just to learn anything about the Cold War. One of the few things I do love about the internet is that I can keep on continuing my education any time of the day or night. My husband and I homeschool our daughter, and we use your channel as a teaching resource. She's only 10 years old, but she is also becoming quite the fan of this channel as well. It started with her sudden fascination with both of the world wars, and I told her that what happened as a result of those two wars is just as wild. The Cold War can be a tricky subject because so many different nations were influenced or pulled into the conflicts at different times. You do a magnificent job of breaking it all down into bite-sized, manageable pieces. Our family can't thank you enough. 🙂❤

It is interesting to note the incompetence of the Eisenhower Administration in the US. The Americans began to covertly fund and organize the Central Treaty Organization (CENTO), also known as the Bagdad Pact in 1955. Then in 1956 Eisenhower forced US allies, the British and French out of Egypt during the Suez crisis. In doing so Eisenhower made Nasser, the main opponent of CENTO, a great leader of the Arabs. The US officially joined CENTO in 1958, but by that time the damage had been done, Arab nationalism was spreading fast all over the Middle East, helped along by Soviet money and weapons. Yemen was one of the countries caught in the the middle, the British left in 1967 closing Aden, the biggest port in the area and the main source of income, Yemen has never recovered.

The Saudi-funded spread of Wahhabism began as a result of Western countries asking Riyadh to help counter the Soviet Union during the Cold War, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman told the Washington Post. Speaking to the paper, bin Salman said that Saudi Arabia's Western allies urged the country to invest in mosques and madrassas overseas during the Cold War, in an effort to prevent encroachment in Muslim countries by the Soviet Union. He added that successive Saudi governments had lost track of that effort, saying "we have to get it all back." Bin Salman also said that funding now comes mostly from Saudi-based "foundations," rather than from the government. The crown prince’s 75-minute interviewwith the Washington Post took place on March 22. "Asked about the Saudi-funded spread of Wahhabism, the austere faith that is dominant in the kingdom and that some have accused of being a source of global terrorism, Mohammed said that investments in mosques and madrassas overseas were rooted in the Cold War, when allies asked Saudi Arabia to use its resources to prevent inroads in Muslim countries by the Soviet Union." Successive Saudi governments lost track of the effort, he said, and now “we have to get it all back.” Funding now comes largely from Saudi-based “foundations,” he said, rather than from the government. www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/saudi-prince-denies-kushner-is-in-his-pocket/2018/03/22/701a9c9e-2e22-11e8-8688-e053ba58f1e4_story.html Actually there is a war backed by the US, NATO and their Wahhabi puppets using Wahhabi terrorists against Yemen currently raging on. ISIS and al-Qaeda, according to BBC, CNN, AP and other media outlets, are used by the US and it's allies against Yemenis just like the case in Syria where they are armed and called moderate rebels and against the Soviets in Afghanistan before. Al-Qaeda using state-of-the-art US Oshkosh MRAPs against Yemenis kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pbOiiLCCvqu9cX0.html ...al-Qaida militants are effectively on the same side as the Saudi-led coalition - and, by extension, the United States." apnews.com/f38788a561d74ca78c77cb43612d50da/AP-investigation:-Yemen-war-binds-US,-allies,-al-Qaida The BBC has found evidence in Yemen that troops from a Saudi-led coalition force and al-Qaeda militants are both fighting Houthi rebels in a key battle. www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-35630194 All this to reinstall an ousted puppet regime in a war that has killed more than 400,000 Yemenis directly and many more due to malnutrition/famine, epidemics, blocking Sana'a Int'l Airport that was the lifeline for medical treatment abroad and according to the Norwegian Refugee Council more than 86,000 patients in dire need of medical treatment die a year. This caused the worst humanitarian crisis since WWII, according to the UN, as 22 million Yemenis are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance due to the incessant bombing and sea, air and land blockade and the epidemics that the bombings and blockade caused. One edit few sources claim that asir and jazan people are shia which is false it’s depending on old sources this is in fact can be seen in taif agreement 1934 after the war which they divide the border between allegiance to the religious, najran is ismaili which is a branch of shia and they are different from zaydis they accepted ibn saud due to tribal closeness to saudis, i’m one who come from asir and i have asked many elder about this and they laughed at me, some say it’s due to back when there was a imams some where shia in asir but later years they left. 2:40
