That reminds me of QWER band from south Korea where the main vocalist was a former idol who didn't know to play the guitar but she was taught and they were able to debut in just a short while. Maybe they can learn from that.

Well... 1. her label is not doing a great job promoting her 2. solo artist have a harder time in general to make an impact I didn't even know she made a japan debut with this song till now. And that's only cuz of youtube algorithm. Maybe hitting the japanese market is a smart idea. the competition is not as hard and she does have a jpn vibe.

@@xxxstellarxxx rock and metal music are not that popular in korea. Yena is actually perfect for the japanese market with her overall presentation. Makes you wonder if Yena should just abandoned being a kpop idol and become more of a rock idol in Japan instead.

Why do Kpop idols always sing in Japanese or have Japanese versions of Kpop songs, but Jpop artistes almost never sing in Korean or have Korean version? It's almost like Koreans are fawning over Japan

Since kpop is popular in a lot of countries they make songs to cater to their different audiences via releasing new songs and/or versions of existing songs in other languages (e.g. JPN, ENG, CHN, etc.)

⁠​⁠@@user-sd9sn7wf3o It’s cuz K-Pop companies’ goals from the very beginning of the industry has always been about marketing their idols on an international level (since their genre was hard to sustain domestically). If you’re interested to learn more, look up the history of the K-Pop soloist Boa, cuz she’s a pivotal point of K-Pop’s relationship with Japan. J-Pop idols don’t do that as much (though it is changing now) because the idol industry is already heavily rooted in Japanese culture, so they don’t need to go international. Another reason is because Japanese fan-culture is very loyal towards idols, so it’s a great investment to build a strong fanbase there.
