Yennifer became so different after Ciri. She became a lot more vulnerable. At the beginning of the 2nd season, when Geralt visited his friend who was cursed, the only thing that could free him would be a sacrifice of blood and love. In order to save Ciri at the end of season 2, she cut herself open and offered herself as a vessel to save Ciri. He desire for power was replaced by her desire to protect Ciri.
