When Tissaia said “Your pain is my pain” in the show, it completely broke me.. I cant endure it, the pain in that line.

They seem to have diverged quite a lot from the books this season so who knows what they will do with her character in season three. I can see where you are coming from. Let me say this though, as Rectoress of Aretuza, Tissaia is responsible for deciding who will be the future sorceresses that will influence kings and queens and maintain the balance of power in the Continent. Her position requires her to maintain a certain level of distance in order to do her job properly. She cannot afford to get too emotionally invested in her students. Despite this, she still sees potential in Yennefer and nurtures her talent and pushes her in the ways she thinks Yennefer needs in order to become a strong, powerful sorceress. At this period in time, when Yennefer is still her student, this is as much as she can do to show Yennefer that she is important to her. Also, before Yennefer, I don't think Tissaia ever felt as connected to a student and this is probably quite terrifying for her. She tells Yennefer that they are alike, partly because it's what Yennefer needs to hear at that point in time but also because I think she knows it's true. In season one Tissaia seems cold and distant for half the season but when we see her in Rinde pleading with Yennefer to return with her to Aretuza, she is clearly affected by Yennefer's dismissal. When Tissaia says "I gave you all I could give..." I believe she is being 100% sincere with Yen. By the time we arrive in season 2 Tissaia is completely devastated with grief over the loss of Yennefer. This Tissaia is consumed by grief and she lets her emotions influence her actions which she would not normally do, like when she cruelly tortures Cahir for information. She doesn't just want to extract information from him, she wants to hurt him, to make him pay for taking Yennefer away. I feel like Yen and Tissaia's relationship has evolved so much over season one and two. For me, when Tissaia tells Yennefer "Your pain is my pain." It really rings true for me. And while I wish she would have taken Yen in her arms and consoled her and whispered "You could never be nothing because you are everything to me." when Yen tells her that she's nothing without her magic, that probably would have been a little too unambiguous. Thankfully there are some very talented fic writers out their doing their best to fix those scenes. Anyways, sorry this turned into an essay. lol. I just love them so much and love discussing people's thoughts and feelings about their relationship too. Thank you so much for checking out the vid. @@mindmypensieve Thank you for answering me. And I don't mind your "essay" at all. We all need to vent our feelings after how emotional it was between these 2 characters. At the end of the day I think I'm all around depressed. By the show and by this world lol. The books/the show are not about them, so this is probably the root of my frustration. And I would go as far as to say that it's paramount for Yen to not find peace and love in Tissaia, as she is supposed to find all these and more by raising Ciri. Who said "I only leant to understand my parents when I became a parent myself" ? They are playing this to a T. Their relationship is set to fail so really what's the point ? And now we have to sit and watch Tissaia's downfall. So really, it sucks to be a viewer. Well, sorry for the rambling.

Oh Sil. I know where you're coming from and I feel you. I think we were a bit spoiled in season one by the amount of scenes we got with them together. Their interactions in season two, while limited were very intense and full of emotion. While I am very disappointed from a vidding pov that there were so few scenes of them actually together, I still love them and am hopeful we will see them reunited in season three. Although they seem to have set them up as antagonists for the next season so I'm interested in how that will play out. Anyways, thanks again for your comments.
