5 years in, and have self-produced everything since I Made. (Not sure if Soyeon was in the recording booth since Day 1 though). I can only imagine how many hours they've spent in the recording studio together. A couple hours, each member, for each song. They know eachother so well at this point.

​@@izzywoods794you can find it splattered around in their i-talks. Especially in their early debut days. Their debut got delayed so Soyeon took matter in her own hands and wrote Latata. The company didn't like the song but the girls do, so they insisted. In the end, she only participated with lyric-writing for I am b-sides, only wrote, composed and produced Latata. But for I made she started to be even more hands-on. Until I trust (their 3rd mini) became the first mini album written solely by a member of the girl group. Like she was the only songwriter in the entire album. The first female idol to do so. Ever. So yes, she's responsible for IDLE's everything. Their concept, their success. She's the brains. The girls will always thank her first in any of their thank you speeches if they win anything. That's how much she's done for the group.

And the lines she gave them is really TAILORED to their voices... When they exchanged their parts during the encore performance I was like okay there's a reason why the members were originally given those parts because it was made for them... Soyeon really knows her members so well

I find Soyeon's technical knowledge impressive too. I just watched the recording of SuperLady and she got Yuqi to physically bend over to use her head voice more, then Yuqi replicated it perfectly. I wonder who Soyeon learned from and if it was 1 very good instructor or if she learned from many different sources? I have no doubt she continues to lean but she seems to have a very solid foundational knowledge of singing.

And that one part when yuqi couldn’t reach the high note, but soyeon immediately knew how yuqi needed to shape her mouth to hit it and then she was able to hit it right after. She also seems to know what kind of technique will help which member. Like for shuhua she teaches something completely different than what she does for yuqi. I honestly think soyeon is super underrated as a singer

I am impressed with how Soyeon is able to suggest different ways for members to physically sing as well as expression and emotion. She seems to have a great fundermental knowledge of singing.

Well, first of all, our fandom is full of biased solos stans... To me, as a person who has been engaged in dancing for many years and teaching professionally dance + a vocals too (honestly, well, my sister is better here than me), it’s always funny how Cube and our fandom (amateur...) appreciate / 'understand' vocals, singing and dancing ... An example I don’t understand / and I protest how Yuqi with her Zero dancing technique, got a dance position... She is absolutely weak in all elements (at least) necessary for a good dancer : isolation (very bad / missing completely), stage presence (average / constantly looking at the floor, not at the audience ... beginner level.), sharpness (average), facial expressions (average, not varied...), energy execution (not bad), precision (average to bad), fluidity (very bad / missing completely), lining (average), musicality (good) ... Ultimately, they don't know anything. But for five years, they have been insulting and bullying Soyeon constantly... We're tired of putting up with it.

why not hire a translator to tweak the words to make it flow and still make sense? Like the "i'm top" part, she could've changed it to "on top" and also the "looks so sex like kim kardashian" part sounds weird too. could've had help searching another word for "sexy" if a two syllable word doesn't fit

Interestingly enough, there's a recent interview the last couple days that came out, where Soyeon said they were going to do Allergy as the title track and instead went with Queencard, which was written fairly recently. Really cool how quickly professionals can work, and that they're willing to change plans.

@YeonLover Yup. I personally liked Allergy a lot more, but I think they made a good decision here. Allergy ends up being a monster pre-release that directly leads into Queencard. And, Queencard itself is, in many ways, an ideal flagship for the album---fun/catchy earworm chorus, glamorous MV, dance challenges are perfect for Tiktok, should be a great song in live setlists... and the MV has a very positive ending that I think a lot of people encouraged by and will want to share.

They have to record it, have a choreographer create a dance, get the creative director to make a concept and MV/style, plan and shoot a MV, design and shoot pics for the album. Im surprised they got it out this early😅

Those people claiming aren't real music enthusiasts. lol. As a music enthusiast if you've listened to so many songs, you will notice that a lot of artists who has English as their native language actually does everything that Soyeon does as a music writer and producer. So yeah, what those people are saying isn't valid from a perspective of someone who listens to songs from several artists. If you listened to lana del rey you will hear her do the same thing.

For most people, language is a way to communicate. So if you don't want to respect the language, you are not trying to "talk" to the people listening to you. Which I get, chorus and voices sounds are instruments too. But then you can't exactly call it "english", and say other people it's their problem :D
