How can one person be so talented while also being so adorable? Wouldn’t it have been fairer to split those gifts between two people?

She is really amazing. I have seen a few performances of her. She remembers all pieces entirely by heart. She never uses notes' book. This is incredible. This is one of the most difficult concerto for piano. Only super talented pianist could play this piece. She met this challenge incredibly and in the course of a prestigious competition. WOW!

How can one not fall in love with this delightful, beautiful pianist who commits her soul, heart and emotions into every note she plays, be it Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, or Chopin. Her face is priceless.

Breathtaking pianism. Its enormous length and extreme difficulties prevent it from being performed by any but those pianists of exceptional technical powers. Yeol Eum Son certainly displays her lightening and dazzling skills in understanding every nuance that Rachmaninov sought to insert in his score. Brilliant!

For me, this is the most complex and haunting of Rachmaninoff's concerti. I felt this interpretation is as good as it gets, and loved it. Thank you.

Brava, Yeol Eum !!! A glorious performance. Giving it all, putting the whole soul in it. And your soul is so great, Yeol Eum! This concerto, one of the most feared by a lot of pianists, seems tailored written for her soul, her passion, her bravery. It is not only about its tremendous technical difficulty, it is the frequent moments of climax, throughout the concerto, that Yeol Eum tackles with sublime self-giving. Of the two cadenzas that Rachmaninov wrote for this concerto, Yeol Eum chooses the 'ossia', the longest and most difficult. It lasts 3 minutes and is of a fierce tension. Suffice it to say that the greatest pianists of the time (including the composer himself) avoided it. And as if all this were not enough, Yeol Eum finished off her very bright participation in the Tchaikovsky Comp. with Mozart's PC 21. If with Rachmaninov she flew very high, with Mozart she was already unattainable for others.

The orchestra and the conductor brought their best to this performance as well. I can't imagine this being played any more beautifully.

Every time I listen to the ossia cadenza I become so emotional. I am glad that a number of Asian pianists can handle this so well, of course including my favourite Yeol Eum.

A wonderful, unmatchable performance by Yeol Eum, but after hearing her play Mozart, Beethoven and other great composers in an unequaled manner, this is no surprise to me. She's the best in the early part of this century.

Beautiful music, great pianist and excellent musicians with an attentive conductor. And yet another close up video of tympany ~drumsticks as a pianist is developing an entrance into one of the most beautiful , energetic, and difficult climaxes in the final movement of a magnificent Masterpiece concerto. I can’t understand what the fascination is with the percussion section at one of the most exciting parts of a piano concerto, from a pianist’s viewpoint. Many videographers cut to the tympany at this climactic moment. Just don’t get it.

btw, conductor is horrible. no feel for the pianist whatsoever. never together with the pianist at end of phrases. at the end always looking at the left, like right part of the orchestra is not existing. no emotions, no excitement. this guy should be fired or retired. simply pathetic attitude to his job!
