The DVSs for both series were the first I bought over 20 years ago. I watch them twice a year and whenever I find any clips or episode on youtube, I'll watch them. This is superb acting, writing, elegant but incisive yet tender humour. The trio of actors were superb, Paul Eddington even acting when his skin cancer was eating him away.

As a 78 year old I never thought I never thought comic would become reality....bitter sweet....1975 ...2024..back to the future. Ah well at least we can still laugh at ourselves..even though now we are being laughed at by others

The Christmas cards...😆😂. One of the best senior cast of any comedy ever. All sadly missed. Even the support charecters are and writing is brilliant. ❤️ Unfortunately it's still too true. Hacker = Sunak. 😆😂

How realistic is that last bit with Bernerd? Can a Prime Minister just pluck a British Civil Servant out of their post and move him up, while he remains a Civil Servant?

Other ministers, no. Prime Ministers, yes. A PM can even elevate a non civil servant, often junior MP, to such roles, but that is very rare, and has always led to leaks and scandals.

In reality it's now a rule that any sausage with less than 40% meat, is called a banger. Most of the sausages in any supermarket are 40% plus, even up to 90%+ for the posh ones. Then there's the vegan/vegetarian ones. 😁
