I absolutely adore the series, one of my all time favorites. I find myself transported, suddenly a guest seated at a charming table at the Seaside Hotel.

We need the piano scene with the two girls standing at attention it really is an outstanding enjoyable scene, and a great display of his immense talents. Cudo's From America Jens Tychsen ! I hope some American director is smart enough to plug him into an American movie! I got a feeling, he improves everything he touches..

I suspect that Walter Donaldson (composer) & Gus Kahn (lyricist) would be very pleased to learn that this song had been recorded (after they'd both died) by Bing Crosby, The Sensations, Rick Nelson, The Four Aces, Frank Sinatra, and even Etta Jones! However, I believe that they'd be absolutely dumbfounded to learn that it had been sung (with great skill & musicality) in the 21st century by a Danish actor in a Danish series about a seaside hotel in pre-WWII Denmark. Quite astonishing!

Weyse and his songs are the highlight of the show. Any recordings made?
@wotan1095011 ай бұрын
I used to get irritated when Weyse appeared. But he is very important to the show, providing comic relief for a series that might otherwise be too dark. He is also extraordinarily talented.

Love Weyse singing in Seaside hotel. Best scene is him rolling around fighting the drunken character that mistook him for a maids boyfriend. Hilarious. 😅

Can’t tell if he is lip-synching or not. If you look carefully at the youtube, at one point, it looks like his lips aren’t moving altough you hear him singing.

The recording is a bit delayed compaired to the sound. It happens sometimes during uploads, which is annoying. This man never lip synch 🥰 he's just that good.

Heres what I am trying to figure out. Does he speak English or did he just memorize this song with a coach. On one hand, I understand how one can be coached this way, on the other hand, he appears so natural stunningly natural. I have found a few interviews with him but nothing in English. Does he speak English?

I think most people in Denmark are pretty fluent in English 😊

Lia is right. Most Danes and indeed most Scandinavians speak English. That's the first language (after Danish) we learn in school. A lot of Danes also speak German.
