There's a video circulating that claims there is no appropriate scenario where cleaning out and maintaining the cyclone assembly in your vacuum is necessary. I debunk that myth with real world examples of machines that needed such maintenance, and by describing scenarios where you may be in the same situation with your machine. This video is not to call out any particular individual who may have a different experience with these machines, simply to correct the record and provide truthful, accurate, and logical information. This is coming from the perspective of someone who repairs vacuum cleaners for a living, and has repaired and reconditioned several hundreds of machines, dating all the way back to 2006. If you can take it apart yes wash it clean it out but most dyson owners need to be taught to use an air compressor to blow the cyclones out, every once in a while they need to be washed out but these Hoover dual cyclone vacuums have to be washed out or else they loose suction, performance, or like you said they get smelly so many people in the vacuum community say so much crap about bagless but the biggest problem is people not maintaining the machine properly

Rinsing the cyclones is crucial to retaining suction and performance without wearing out your motor faster. And my cinetic big ball animal has a few holes clogged up in the cyclones and the motor sounds higher pitched than when it was new.

If it's a newer shark, then there isn't really any cyclone to clean. Just make sure the screen in the top is clear, and that the filters are clean

As much i don't like cleaning bagless vacuums but that guy (you know who) saying you can't clean or its a "bad idea" to clean a Cyclone pack its a very stupid and its misinformation to say those kinds of things and not actually helpful. Its ain't rocket science that you have to maintain your vacuums especially as high maintenance as a bagless vacuums and knowing that he's very infamous of attacking people in the comments and in his videos just because he can't take criticism that he's wrong I can't take that guy seriously and doubt he knows anything about fixing a vacuum cleaner.
